Albers Cutlery Company

My page refreshed from nothing listed to sold out. No chance to try to add to cart or pay.
I have had that happen twice during Oz Roosevelt drops. I don’t know why it happens, but that how it goes sometime. I’m not a tech guy, but I suspect it’s a browser problem when the page is being refreshed. I was actually worried about this happening last night, but my browser spared me (this time).

I started to refresh the page every two second after 8pm ET. It didn’t show up immediately at 8pm. It’s about 5 seconds after the 8pm that I saw the updated page with product. I just clicked it and used the first payment method my phone popped up. Then I got one confirmed order number. No magic no trick just be able to get in at the right time. I failed in all previous attempts in any drops. So this time it really makes me happy.

That kind of threw me off. I was worried that I was on the wrong page when I didn’t see them at 8:00, and looked at the home page for a second. Probably cost me the chance to get one. Oh well, lesson learned.

I hope he can get as much as he can for them. Price increases help curb demand.

I have seen popular knifemakers price themselves out of business as well. While super popular at the current prices they had, as prices increased speculators dropped off, collectors got their fill, and BAM no one was left at the new pricing structure.

My sister still has a huge amount of figurines, I think they were called 'precious moments' or something like that. That $1200 soup terrine now is worth like ~$50 and it originally cost $180. Not such a great investment but, I chalk things like that up to other crazy things like Ostrich farming and Emu oils being the next 'Gold Rush'. Personally, I see Marijuana farming like that as well. In the little town I grew up in it started with CBD oil which apparently cured everything from Cancer to toenail fungus and poor eyesight. Now there are 3 Cannabis dispensaries in a town of ~1600 people with 8 commercial grow facilities. This isn't unique in that area either. The amount of pot grown seems hugely out of proportion to all the pot being smoked and 'medicinal' foods being consumed.

Personally, I hope he keeps his knives at similar prices and demand stays way above supply so he has a long term viable business. A fast buck today is no good when there is no money in the future. With consistent demand, he has a predictable business to sustain him into the future and one that allows him to plan for new equipment purchases as things change and evolve.

My second Albers knife but my first experience with the lambfoot pattern. Very different feeling knife all around even though they don’t look too differently sized.

Crazy snake-y snakewood too!

Love your work Eric!
