Albers Cutlery Company

I'd say keep trying. Patience, perseverance, and forming good relationships here by extending the spirit of kindness and generosity pay off.

I was on the verge of giving up but eventually found the right checkout rhythm and now I have two.

Feeding the scalpers just encourages them, and if they're emboldened enough - they run roughshod over the entire hobby. Look at the awful mess the "sneakerheads" are in.

My 2 cents.
Yeah I don’t mind waiting…the issue is if the blade and cover options speak to me the same way.

I struck out this time. I’m 2 out of 6 on Eric’s Lambfoot drops - better than my batting average from days of old so I’m not too salty about it. I look forward to seeing a few photos of them in the wild.

I too am looking forward to the clip blades again and am really intrigued by the two blade models.

The blue rope is stunning in the pics shared so far. Definitely a grail knife for me as well, especially with that oval shield. Perfect shield choice. Sharing my only Albers folder below.

Hello ea42 ea42 I have a question for you if you see this and have a moment to answer.

I went down a bit of a rabbit hole the other day doing some research into the blue rope jigged bone. Here is what I found. Would you mind letting me know if this is correct?

From what I read/researched, the bone originated when Schrade was making a 100th anniversary cigar box set in the early 2000s. It looks like there were about 4-5 knives in this series, all handled with the blue rope bone. Unfortunately, this was around the time US production of their knives stopped due to the company going out of business and maybe this series was not completed?

From there, it seems the handle blanks were salvaged by the founders of CSC. Ive seen a few CSC knives use this bone, but not many. Maybe it was reserved for special situations?

Following that, I believe the Red Trout SFO knife (your project at CS Co-Op?) used the material on a couple of examples.

And finally, it looks like you own the remaining handle blanks, using them on a few of your early clip point knives and now on this batch of lambfoot knives.

Does this sound like the full history (so far) of this handle material, or are there any steps along the way that I missed? I’m curious of the family-line of this material and wondering if anyone has gone through the trouble of collecting one of each example.
