Albers Cutlery Company

I spaced out the last drop. Even though I haven’t been lucky lately I enjoy the excitement. This time I was ready and waiting, five minutes to go when I decided it would be fine to look at some knife pictures here…I wouldn’t forget about the drop…about an hour later I remembered. Foiled by Blade Forums.

I had this one in leadwood out to accompany me on a walk this morning.

Wildebeest bone! Lovely pattern and color.

ea42 ea42 , what is this little piece of carved wood that was in the box with it?

Suitably hooked, these are the traditionals I would want to collect.

That's the knuckle from the bone I used for the handles. There should have been a little note in the box with the knife. Here's what it said:

"Hey folks! For those of you who snagged a wildebeest bone knife I've included a knuckle off of the bone used for the handles. Was going to throw them out but then figured they'd possibly make for a cool display with the knife. If you want to slide the knife blade in the groove you might wrap a strip of felt around the portion of the blade that slides in the groove just to be on the safe side. I did clean it out quite well but there's always the possibility of a little grit hanging out in there. Enjoy the knife!!"

Yes, it's definitely wood. It seems like a decorative carving from a piece of furniture.

That is such a cool idea! I'm glad you didn't throw them out!!

I finally got to meet Eric in person at the Little Valley knife show last weekend. I was honored to shake his hand.

It was a pleasure meeting you as well Carl!! That was an amazing show! I met so many people who I'd only known from these internet interactions, it was great to see them in person!! Here's a shot across one of the buildings at the Cattaraugus Fair Grounds.
