Always a pleasure to see the craftsmanship involved in making knives, especially since Eric is a one man show! On a funny note, I took my kids to tour the Canal Street Knives factory back in about 2010, and Eric was one of the craftsman there at the time!An experience for sure.![]()
Yes, the amount of time consuming work that goes into making a knife is staggering.Always a pleasure to see the craftsmanship involved in making knives, especially since Eric is a one man show! I think it is maple burl dyed caribbean blue. I am often wrong though. I sure like all the great scale material Eric uses. Glad you like it.That is a special one.![]()

Quite bizarre stuff! Interesting to look at though!!!Hey Charlie, its Hempwood, Eric made them about 2-3 years ago
Definitely not caribbean blue…probably just dyed with some green. Pretty sure it’s maple though. I should write this stuff down somewhere but that would be like I had a collection. I have another Albers that I always look at it and think “hamburger.” Eventually “beefwood” floats up through my addled memory.I think it is maple burl dyed caribbean blue. I am often wrong though. Very nice, fitted up about exactly to my preferences from the look. I like when minimal bark is removed and some of the channels even run right into the bolsters. Bonus points if it’s mostly slim with just a bit of swell.Deer Horn from 4-5 years ago, sweetView attachment 3099247

Here’s my two (plus a CSC for good measure). I haven’t been able to score any recently, but I also haven’t put up much effort eithertrying to reduce my spending a lot lately.
