Albers Cutlery Company

Man, I really hope there is an "o" behind that knife.... otherwise, I don't think I'd want to drink it... "big poop" beer? Nope. :poop: :D

Too funny! In this day and age a "big poop" beer might draw quite a following:eek: Seems like a few years ago, the brewers were trying to make the most bitter IPA one could tolerate.

Hi all,

I have been following the forum for some time, but I have not posted much. I recently fall into love with slip-joint knives (as we call them here in the UK), but I am struggling to get decent ones at affordable prices. I have tried to get GEC, but it is even more difficult to get those in the UK. So far, I could only get one 62 GEC. So when I found about Albers Cutlery I got pretty excited as the knives looked pretty high quality from the pictures and videos, and the price was just with in my budget.

Does anyone know if there is a specific drop rate and patterns on these? And does the maker send them to the UK? I wanted to ask directly to the maker, but he does not have any means of communication on his website. Yes, I have already signed on the mailing list and keeping my eye on the website and my e-mail.

Cheer!

Murat

I don't want to discourage you... But if you are finding GEC knives hard to purchase, I think you are going to be just as frustrated trying to purchase an Albers Cut Co. knife, at least for now. You have to understand that these knives are hand-crafted by just a single person, so they are in very limited supply when they are released. They are in very, very high demand and tend to sell out within minutes, if not seconds. The demand has only been increasing lately. So far they have been released every couple months or so on average. I'm not sure if Eric ships to the U.K. or not.

Thanks for the reply much appreciated!

I thought I found a relatively less known gold mine, so, I thought perhaps I can snatch one!

Hi all,
... Does anyone know if there is a specific drop rate and patterns on these? And does the maker send them to the UK? ...

I'm also in the UK and have been looking out for one - unfortunately every release so far has dropped around 1-2AM here, so I've had no luck!
Not sure if international shipping is offered but I'd recommend signing up for a reshipping service, their rates tend to be pretty reasonable.

I am always awake at 1-2AM. Do you know the exact dates of drop-offs? And which reshipping service do you recommend? I have never used one before.

Thanks!

Does anyone know the contact details of the maker, so I can ask if a shipment to the UK is possible? There is no contact details on the website.

I think that this is not yet the case, here is the answer he gave me in mid-February :
"Presently I'm not set up for foreign shipping and sales but I'll be looking into it later this year."

I don't trust my memory anymore so did not want to comment. But my recollection was also-No International Shipping.

LOL! A few more days folks! Gotta say I'm mighty glad I made this little tool! After opening and closing knives hundreds of times the ol' nails take a beating! :)

Eric
It would be really neat to see some of your most favorite tools you use to make knives! Stuff that is old timmey and shows off what they just don't make like they used too... And thank you for the update... now I can ease up enough to go to the bathroom tonight

Eric,

Thanks for the update and everything you are doing. It’s really great to see such fine hand made knives today.

I’m looking forward to obtaining my first Albers knife and your future models too.
