Albers Cutlery Company

They all look fantastic so far. Any chance we can see a wildebeest example? Will the wildebeest have shields?

No shields on the wildebeest. Most of them were just too uneven to correctly pin a shield. I could have glued them in though ;)
Here are a few, mind you they're pretty dull and dirty since they haven't been hit with the fine belt or buffed yet. I didn't want to grind much off of that gnarly horn since that's the whole identity of wildebeest right there, Otherwise you've basically got what looks like cow horn.

Eric those look great, thanks for taking the time to answer my post. I really like the texture on them.

How does wildebeast, as a handle material, respond to changes in temperature and humidity? Is there much expansion or shrinkage with these changes? I have never had a knife with this handle material, but I love the texture; it is one of the most unique I have seen on a slipjoint. I expect these will not last long when they drop.

Are these preserved/treated with resin?? Must be!!?? 🤔

those are crazy, what a unique look, like charred wood, I cant wait to see the finished product when they roll out.

Which cover is your first choice this go around? If I'm in the right place, at the right time, maybe I can help you out.
That's a right porch-like offer, thank you! If you do somehow manage the miracle of becoming burdened with the possession of multiples, I would happily help lighten that terrible load. And I certainly would not be picky about covers; they all look amazing. But since you ask....wildebeast!

Wow, those are stunningly awesome! Wish I had the ability to obtain one. I've been following your drops ever since you started, but they have never been available by the time I get there. I would call that being very successful, and honestly, I think you should raise your prices! Amazing work! Congrats to everyone who gets one!

I won’t be going after one for myself again until the lambsfoot knives come around, but this will give me a little something to look forward to, lol. The thrill of the hunt is half the fun for me. :)

Hmm. Is stabilizing horn/stag normal? How about bone?

I've had a bunch of different types of animal horn-like handles . . . buffalo horn, walrus, mammoth, ivory, ram's horn, musk ox, . . . and various types of stag, and of course all sorts of smooth and jigged bone. Can't remember any of them being infused with resin to stabilize. But maybe they just didn't say or I just missed it. And maybe wildebeast is different?

I've seen some stabilized plain white bone but I don't recall ever coming across any stabilized horn or antler. I have seen it dyed though.

Do these drop at a specific time and day, or does an email go out when they are available? I put my email into the subscription box and did the captcha, but it just takes me back to the home screen, doesn't confirm I'm subscribed or anything.

No specific drop day/time. An email will go out when they hit the site. You will have several seconds once that happens to complete your order 😆
