Alcohol, what do you bring into the wild?

When I camp out at the Beach. I take Beer for the day time and Tequilla for

the night time around the camp fire. :)

If I'm truck camping it's generally a good micro beer (Deshutes Black Bute Porter) is my favorite right now (there are so many:confused: )

If weight is a factor, and I'm with people Crow Royal in a flask is good. If on an outing alone I normally don't bring anything.

I threw up all over myself on Yukon when I was 16... haven't touched it since! :o. You're right though, lots of regular drinkin' booze is in plastic pints and half-pints now, very handy. The Jim Beam one says "lightweight traveler" or something right on it, lol...

I was just one year older when I did the same thing:barf: Can't touch the stuff 18 years later!

I almost forgot (How could I???)...

If I'm packing a bit heavier, especially after a trip near Inverness, I'll take a bottle of Moniack Castle mead. Absolutely delicious; not too sweet like many meads, and no other spirits added to raise the alcohol content (a dispicable practice to 'tart up' a poor mead).

If heading anywhere near Inverness, Moniack Castle is well worth a visit for the locally-grown, home-made produce. The mead is made from local honey and they do a superb wild garlic sauce.

It's not really a castle though, just a big old farm house!

I always bring back a dozen bottles when I'm up there, and sometimes even order a box for Christmas if I've not been for a while.

Rick.

At home I like a good single malt, typically McCallans or Glen Morangie. In the woods I tend to favor good, single barrel bourbons. One I especially like is Blanton"s.

Gave up the booze 13 years ago, so the only alcohol that I take is in my FAK in little packaged wipes.

if I'm out of shine I'll pack sotol or tequila and if I have a friend along I'll load their pack up with beer........

Anyone wanna come hiking with me?

I just recently started carrying some Early Times. Whiskey is definately a winter warm up drink! Before that I had some Stoli (I'd go with the 100 proof).

When Jeep camping I bring a couple of cases of Miller Genuine draft.

When backpacking I bring some everclear. (normally just burn it in the stove though)(Yeah, I know... Thats alcohol abuse!)
Enjoy!

Early Times! Haven't had that in years...another in that vein is
Ancient Age (as I recall) These two will take you to another time :barf:

LOL, it was a hand made one that took me a good 2 months to make while I was in high school. Then wake up in the morning, I got half a handle left.

whiskey in the woods for me, and if im in legal territory in canada a nicely rolled green delite hits the spot

My pleasure is any good single malt scotch.. Glenlivet is probably at the top 2-3. Speyburn is one that I recently tried that I enjoy very much as of late.. Looks like I am in good company here as I see we have more than a few scotch drinkers here in this community..
