I decided to post this because I am a firm believer that people like to bitch in public much more than they like to praise, and I hate that.

Some of you know (because I did bitch in public a couple times! :o) that I ordered some steel from Aldo and he had a hard time filling the final part of the order.

First off, I think he agreed to sell it to me way too cheap! And then he had a lot of things going on in his personal life. Aldo's brain functions a lot like mine, so I (more than) understand how things can pile up and it can be paralyzing trying to figure out how to tackle all the things on your "to-do list."

With the recent talk of Aldo diving head first into the steel thing and leaving plumbing behind, I hollered at him to get his attention ;) :D

Just like I figured... (because it would have been the same for me) "my steel sheet" was there in Aldo's brain... it just needed a little poke to be brought back near the front. That hits all too close to home for ME. :)

Aldo jumped up, got to it, and I received a beautiful 10X36 sheet of precision ground O1 yesterday from our good friend, Mr. Bruno!!!!  :D

What Aldo has been doing for us heat-and-beaters... and EVERYBODY now that he's carrying CPM steels (and precision ground sheets! ;) :D )... is an absolutely HUGE asset that WE are very fortunate to have. I'm glad we have him, and am glad to call him a friend. :)

Nick, keep it up and you'll make Aldo cry. Nothing worse than seeing a plumber cry. :)

You just made a man in New Jersey feel good! I've dealt with Aldo and have always been more than pleased with the result. He is genuinely concerned with supplying a quality product to us knifemakers and a man with whom I wouldn't hestitate to do business with.

I'm glad this thread is here and my upcoming question won't be a sticky violation. So, does Aldo have a web page? I saw in the "supplies" sticky it reads he is here on the forums but I'd be dang if I found anything.

If someone has the link or information I would greatly appreciate it!

Aldo is good people, even if he is a yank.:D

I have had dealings with him more than once, and so far, he is a man of his word.

(I expect a big hug next time we meet ya big lug.)

Robert

Aldo is, indeed, the Man, and deserves all of your guys' business. I won't even tell you what he has done that is so cool because he deserves your business anyway. You'll see.

I just wish he had a complete list of what is available. Too busy sellin' to update his site I guess.

Aldo's definitly my favorite steel supplier. I make sure I know what he is bringing to "blade" or other assorted hammer-ins and such and pick it up. I haven't had him ship it across the border yet but I'm sure that it wouldn't be a big deal. GO ALDO.

yes aldo is good ppl even if somme times yoyu got tot call a fe time (hey its fun to talk with him even not about steel )

he goes out of his way to make you happy and to carry all the odd ball stuff

also he is working on getting quench oils for us all for the different steels we love

think about it
at some point as a starting knife maker you can get your 1084 and the proper oil for a good price and all from the same place

hear that aldo we need a nubies kit (a gal of quenchent and a bar of 1084 with HT info )

Whoa Ive known about aldo for a while, but wasnt really atracted to the 1084 that I though was the only thing he had, but now I see he hase lots of goodies cheap-ish too

and sadly you need to call or email him as he has a hard time keeping up his stock list (he is moving the steel man and all the time getting more )

guess I gotta jump into this Aldo love fest... just got another shipment from him myself and must agree wholeheartedly with all the other compliments that have been made here. Aldo's a good dude and he gets you what you need, quickly, and at a good price. Pretty soon makers are gonna start putting his name in their advertising materials... "all knives made with 100% pure all natural hormone-free Aldo steel" :)

I've been to Aldo's place a few times to bang on some steel. He's a helluva guy. Which reminds me, I still have some pieces at his place that need to be finished.

I was thinking about this a day or two ago Nick. Now I can get after him about my wrought iron...........

:D:D:D

[Aldo's the man! He's been busy & I'm not out of wrought! ;)]

I think Aldo Bruno's a great guy, but...

...who the hell is Nick Wheeler?
