I have a hankering to buy a Vespa Ripper. I see that they are on sale through AliExpress, but I know nothing about this provider. I assume they are the Chinese version of Amazon, but are they legit? Trustworthy? Reputable? etc. Also they say the knife will not be available until March, which makes me leery of giving them my money for that long. Anyone have any experience with this outfit? Other options to acquire a Ripper? TIA

Their resolution process is maddening . NOT recommended !

With Amazon usually you can at least get your money back .

Send money to China or dont. That discussion is purely political and does not belong in this subforum.

DO NOT send your money to ALi******.

Their resolution process? Irrelevant. What should be FAR more damning for any self-respecting knife fan is this:

They are notorious for selling blatant counterfeit knives, in addition to knockoff knives whose makers steal ideas form other knife makers. THAT hurts the knife industry as a whole, and causes members here to lose their livelihoods.

Buying on AliExpress is really dependent on the individual seller than anything (think Ebay, not Amazon). I got my Ripper from "China High-End EDC Store," who is well-known in the Reddit knife community. Other than slow shipping times, which should be expected when buying from China, I've got no complaints.

AFAIK, Vespa is a Chinese counterfeit manufacturer of Microtech. They are rip-offs of Microtech knives but have just changed the name to Vespa.

They make their own in-house designs (Vespa and Darkstar, maybe some others), not just clones. Their in-house models have a much less "tactical" aesthetic than Microtech.

I think you mean, "spend" a little more money. Don't you?
Bingo
I assumed that you might be on a budget based on the knife you asked about, I apologize. If you got the dinero, buy yourself something nice.

Considering Vespas are already knockoffs, might as well get it from them. Not sure there are any US based distributors for that company anyway. As an aside, I hear they make a decent knife.

So them knocking off, i.e, stealing, the hard work of legit knife designers and manufacturers, many who are fellow BF members...you are fine with. You would give them your money. Nice.

LMAO! No. Just no.

I use it for hardware, mostly, low risk stuff. Maybe ~10 times so far, didn't loose a package yet, but they take 1-2 months to arrive.

Warned for insulting and rude behavior

Did I fucking say that?
