I'm not crazy about plastic handles but that clear one looks cool especially with the engraving.

Here are some Bucklite sheaths I got and now I'm trying to find the knives that go in them...

I have noticed prices have been going up the last 6 months or so and a few of the orange one's past 70.00.. Most variations are rare but small hoards will show up.I'll keep my eye open for you.

So does anyone have any more Bucklites (422s, 412s, 414s, 426s, 424s and so on) to share with all of us??? I do need pics of different ones that I don't have...

Thanks again, ITE ... :D

You ever send any tired soldiers from the BuckLite regiment into Buck for the spa treatment? Plastic, relatively soft vs say metal/wood handles, and scratched up blades in need of sharpening kind of situation makes me wonder about results. $6.95 and you keep the original blade or $10 and you get a new blade. Unless you stop me I was gonna give it a try on a few.

Oregon, I have never sent a Bucklite in for a spa treatment or for a new blade... I was told that the Plastic would probably Break or Crack... ...
Good Luck if you send them in... ITE ... :)

Here are a few of them.

The first Bucklites came out in 1985 . Then 2nd generation knives began showing up in 87 & 88 but in these photos I'm seeing some 3rd generation knives appear during this time as well . Also, in 1989 the first Selectors began appearing from the factory and the venerable V52 come out in 1990 . So, its evident Buck was moving fast with these models as the knife public was responding favorably toward them . Thanks for your nice photos guys . DM

I heard, that the first Bucklites came out in 1984.... But, Bill Keys said 1983...

Quote: From Bill Keys... They debuted in 1983, at least that's what the plaque on my wall says.... ... Director Lean Manufacturing & Engineering...

This Quote: is from Stephen Sullivan... He is a BCCI member... and I bought some of his Bucklites from him the other day 10 - 2013...

He sold the rest of his Bucklites on the bay this month OCT 2013... He told me that he was done collecting... He had over a 130 Bucklites... Wow...
He had some nice ones that I needed... He sold them before I could get to them... Someone got lucky on the bay... :)

First introduced in 1984, the BuckLite family of knives started small, with just three models in two handle colors. The model 422 BuckLite was fashioned after the finger-grooved 112 Ranger and used the same modified clip style blade of that model. The handle surface of these first generation BuckLites featured a very small crosshatch pattern to improve grip, with the finger-grooved side and back edge left smooth. All of the first three models were available in a rich, dark, "chocolate bar brown" color and the 422 was also offered in olive drab. These new knives came standard with an entirely new sheath design to boot, essentially a canvas pouch with a belt loop sewn into the upper half and a Velcro closure at the top. The brown knives came standard with a tan and brown sheath, and the olive drab model 422 came with a green camouflage sheath. Both sold for $12.35, and sold quite well.

I love the price $12.35... I paid $12.00 for my first Bucklite, it was on sale... Box is mark $14.99, I think... ITE ...

;)
