O-Now I do remember Bill Keys story about his proto type 112. So, maybe 'production' began in 1984. Thanks, DM

bucksway, if I ever get another one I would trade you... Clint, it's a dark Brown/Maroon color... I hope I can find you one someday... ITE ... ;)

It looks to be the same image just the plate is reversed . Thanks for the photos guys . DM

I don't know but thats easy to do as the plates look the same while viewing and their fit in the frame is the same. Its after the blades come out that then the artist does realize, woops I layed the plate in on its reverse side. E, while looking at your micarta handled proto 422 (which I like) I noticed the 3 dot blade is fully hollow ground. This did not occur until the 4 dots (110's). Which leds me to believe these were made during the 4 dot time frame as the blades were done the same. Whereas I have a LE 112 w/ rams horn handles and a non-fully hollow ground 3 dot blade made for us collectors at the 20yr. reunion (2008). Joe told me they found the blades during the move to Post Falls and then had these made up. DM

2Shoes, Thats a 2nd generation Bucklite which I prefer because of the lanyard hole. My wife likes the 1st generation as many here do . Yours being 425M steel how do you like the way it sharpens and holds an edge? Nice photo. DM

Well after EDCing it on a produce farm for a few years, I really came to love this knife for it's edge. I never had to run home and sharpen it after a week's worth of work, and putting an edge on it is real easy, it takes a wicked good edge to.

I accidentally left the knife out in an onion field for two days before finding it again, it had rained in that time and everything was soaked. I found the knife laying in one of the rows we had planted, and it was just covered in mud, but not a single stitch of rust.

I have no idea what kind of steel Buck uses in their different knives, but I love it all.

David, you got me... I have no idea what they did at Buck... ... I guess I can call and talk to Leroy about it... ITE ...

I need more pics of Bucklites and there sheaths and could use some pics of the end of there boxes too... Thanks, ITE

ITE, I don't have the box from my Dad's Bucklite, but I do have a pic of the sheath. His Buck was one with the olive drab handles.
Here's the sheath, it's been on a few rides with my Dad, as well as with me.

Johnny 2, what a great picture of a well used 422 sheath... That's the same 422OD Bucklite that I bought 25 years ago... There's a pic of my 422OD Bucklite on page one... ;) ... and I still have the box and papers for it... It doesn't look that used, but it's been everywhere I've been... Best Buck knife ever for the $$$... Just click on the pic to make it bigger...

Thanks for sharing ... ITE ...
