OK I met a guy parting with it,he gave me a pretty fair deal.

Another knife guy hooked me up w/some stuff & made me so freakin' tickled, one time,so I sent it to him, as a token of appreciation.

I think ,no I know,it was the most magnificent old knife I ever snagged.

Quite the show we have going on here so far. Thanks everyone. Elliott, you know that dogleg jack by a certain maker needs to be in here.

Not exactly pristine mint, but here is a Southington jack that has seen a lot of love, or abuse, in its days. Levine's Guide says Southing was in business from 1867 to 1914. (I like the narrow pen blades on earlier jacks)

Posting Frenzy indeed! See what you started, Mike!!:D
Love all these customs; quite a collection, Elliott!
Let's step back in time again: according to Mike Silvey, this became the new Navy knife during WW I!
Myth has it, that drunk sailors couldn't stab each other easily, but could keep their nails clean for inspection!! Think that's true??
Several manufacturers got contracts for them - this one is a W.R. Case & Sons.

Here's one to complement yours, Charlie...An "Amsterdam" stamped military knife. (Unfortunately, we have been unable to find any info on this tang stamp.)

Do you have a close-up of the tang, Elliott?
Interesting knife!
I seem to recall spilling a little blood opening cans with something similar!
