Walther PPK, Ranger Industries.
Interarms was a company that was formed in 1953 by a former CIA analyst, Sam Cummings. It was the sole importer of Walther firearms until1999, when Cummings died. When the gun control act of '68 took effect, (in 1968), the PPK was no longer legal to import cause it did not meet the minimum point score established by GCA68. So Cummings was granted a license by Walther GmBH to have the PPK produced in the US. He contracted with Ranger Industries of Arkansas to produce the PPK, and, subsequently, the PPK/S, for the US market. Ranger made pistols for Interarms up until Cummings died. Then, Walther granted the license to Smith and Wesson who began producing PPK's and PPK/S's in Houlton, Maine. These S+W Walthers are considered to be of dubious quality. The PPK offered here was manufactured by Ranger in 1993.
