Wow, this really is a mess. I do wonder why whenever Cori answers a post she totally avoids the main questions that have been asked. Did yourself and Allen tell Phil that his knife only needed some cosmetic touchups and was just about ready to ship? Are you shipping the stag back to Phil in it's original condition? If so how could the knife possibly have just needed touchups?
Cori, over and over you have stated that because Phil's knife was FREE that paying customers should get their knives first, and Phil should understand that. First of all the knife was not FREE. It was paid for in Phil's time that he spent doing the illustrations for Allen. Even if Allen did not ask for the pictures, once he agreed to send a knife in exchange for them, he was agreeing to compensate Phil for his time. Secondly, it does not sound like Phil was expecting to get his knife before other customers who were ahead of him. The fact is it was Allen that told Phil that the knife was almost finished. I am sure that at that point it was assumed that the knife would ship soon.
It also seems that almost the same thing happened to Chad. He was told that his Busse only needed to have the handle shaped and then it would be ready to ship, and it looks like he will be getting his knife back in the same condition that he shipped it to you in. This after 9 months of being told that it should be done soon. You also say that you answered all his emails promptly(and Chad agrees with this to a point, he states that after a while you stopped answering his emails all together). If you tell him something that is untrue it does not matter how long it takes you to get back to him, and telling him the knife was almost ready looks like a ploy ment to gain more time.
So it seems to me that it is not the amount of time being taken, or that people want knives before they are due that is the problem. The problem seems to be that these people do not like being lied to. If you did not lie to them then I invite you to explain why Allen and yourself told people that their knives were almost done when that was obviously not the case.
