Ya'll are crazy talking about "squeaked in on 3" and "In on 3." Every one knows you keep your pages set to 40 PPP, you keep your powder dry and your friends sharper than your knives!

Well this is definitely early, but I'll just try it out anyways

I was gonna use this for real but I was about 12 hours too late lmao©

Apparently, sweater pants are going to be all the rage. Anybody want a pair for Xmas?

Kydex is not a liner material. It's value is in its moldable properties. Use micarta or G10 for rigid liners.
Attach ALL the unshaped pieces to the blade with bolts and then shape it all TO the tang. Ta-da, perfect fit.
As for horse stall mat: "to each his dentifrice" --Opus

I think shock absorption could be nice for dedicated choppers, but less useful on smaller knives.

I probably didnt say this last night, but the idea for using Kydex would be the ability to mold the liners in a bit to the knife tang giving the scales some added rigidity. However, I trust your opinion because you have made quite a few more knives/handles that I have so your experience counts more than my brainstorming. :)

Epoxy doesn't bond to neoprene worth a hoot; not sure about stall mat. I've had much better luck with Barge cement... the same stuff we use for leather.

I had some luck bonding utilizing straight up super glue then pressing in a special kind of loctite high temp silicone to fill any voids and edges. Was only on a very small knife so cannot really say how it would hold up to impacts.

I've used Aquaseal bonding neprene to other stuff, it seems like it would work well on most materials - I have no expertise in this, but I've used it a bit and it seems strong and everything I've used it on is still stuck together, so.......

Okay, just checked out a recipe for jambalaya and holy crap I am so gonna make that, looks awesome!

Why do I feel like there will be a contest based on this once IPRL goes out of style?

So here's my latest haul. Opinel No. 12 saw, No. 12 knife, No. 8, and a coast G19 flashlight (AAAx1 54 lumens) The Ka-Bar USMC is for size reference, it's a fullsize.

Nice haul man!

How does those opinels lock? or they dont lock?

Does the "ring" turn to open and close a spot for the blade or slip over or something???

Seen a bottle like this below in the store, I have never tried this stuff at all, never will either, but i like the new bottle anyway

There is a ring lock, called a vibrolock. You basically twist it where the metal is block the handle opening. It's basically a twisty metal collar....hope that makes sense

YES, another Opinel addict among #BHs. That 12 is a beast, got one too. Massively good slicer for BBQs, trust me. I still need the folding saw though, but I'm still in doubt.
Great stuff. You'll definitely love that 8. Put a few drops of some mineral oil or a natural oil in the pivot and let it soak up. That should prevent the blade from becoming too hard to open when you get it wet.

Youtube is your friend if you can't imagine how it works! That's my first source when I wanna see something in action. Well, not every kind of action is viewable on youtube though, LOL.
