Guys, just posting this as a heads-up.

Today I almost bought a very nice-looking lot of mammoth tusk bark/scales from this site:

https://stabilizedmammothtusk.com/

The order was close to $1,500. I did not send payment, so I was not actually scammed. I also cannot say as a proven fact that they are scammers. But there were enough red flags that I backed out.

The contact details I had were:

Name used: Tebit Jermimah
Email: jermimahtebit@gmail.com
WhatsApp: +1 (310) 464-4335

Before paying, I asked for pretty normal verification because of the order value and the material involved:

  • a short video showing the exact pieces with a paper showing today’s date;
  • photos of the pieces on a scale and next to a ruler, with a paper showing my name;
  • legal company name, full business address, and registration details;
  • a company invoice;
  • export description and any documents confirming the origin of the material.
After that, I also found this existing thread here on BladeForums:

https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/beware-stabilizedmammothtusk-com.2017580/

A few things made me stop:

  1. I could not find a proper legal company name, business address, or company registration details on the site.
  2. The website has only a contact form.
  3. Parts of the website look unfinished or copied. The About page has strange placeholder-style content and names like Harvey Spector, Jessica Pearson, Rachel Zain, Mike Ross, etc.
  4. The site still appears to have template/demo traces.
  5. There are strange unrelated external links on the site.
  6. When I asked for company verification and proof of the exact goods, they did not provide the requested details.
  7. Instead, they told me the order was still pending because I had not paid, then suggested I could send a half deposit first and they would provide the information after that.
  8. They also said they would send USDT payment info.
For me, asking for a deposit or USDT before basic business verification was enough to walk away.

I’m attaching screenshots of the WhatsApp conversation so people can judge for themselves.

Again, I did not lose money, and I am not making a legal accusation. I’m posting this only so other makers, collectors, and buyers can be careful before sending money for mammoth tusk or ivory material.

If you deal with them, I would strongly suggest verifying the exact goods, company details, invoice, and payment protection before sending anything.

This guy was defrauded a week ago by them. Again the past site/connect showed it’s a Nigeria-based outfit.

stabilizedmammothtusk.com is a scam

I just bought some mammoth from dimafan who runs fossilusa.com here on blade forums. Had good prices, got exactly what was pictured and the shipping was fast. I’ll be buying more from them in the future. That said, you were smart to back out of that deal with whoever it was!
