It seems like a good show, in theory. BUT... I'm sick and tired of watching this dude cry. Anyone else watching this show?

I was, but can't stand the constant fear and crying. We made it through 2 episodes.

This is the first episode I'm watching. It's a pretty cool show. He's got som wierd gear with him - I think I missed something at the beginning that would have explained a lot.

I've had it

No more being "voted off the island"

No more watching some special forces hack jump in a peat bog or risk breaking bones climbing on a waterfall.

No more guy on a horse chasing someone when they know where they are heading and no more watching someone glorify the spirit of the turtle they are about to eat.

And definitely, DEFINITELY no more colony without weapons to destroy anyone that might mean me harm

I am made of sterner stuff.

Give me a lever action, a hatchet, a pocket full of shells, a few pounds of gear and the clothes on my back and a camera.

I'll give you a TV show without makeup.

These people are not experts, they are useless. Any mountain man worth their salt would laugh at them.

There are people living in appalachia that do this stuff every day and raise families for cripes sake!

Any Reality TV show reps watching these forums that want a REAL survivor show idea, contact me, I have an idea that will blow you away.

Carl-

My wife and I watched it last night for the second time and thought the same thing; how on earth did this crybaby get a contract.

He carried more gear than three sherpa's, plus a shotgun AND a rifle, yet he was scared. I think the most humourous was his cast iron cookware.

Carl, I see your location states "Chair in the East", are you a "traveler"? If so, you'll understand the question. Just curious.

I watched a few episodes of it. I was a little disappointed to say the least. He cried an awful lot. I get that it might get a little uncomfortable for someone to be alone if they like being around other people. I would imagine there is a bit more to survival though. Plus it gets a bit old when every episode is about how sad and lonely he is. Two thumbs down for this show.

Yup - the shelter looked prepared, but I didn't see the begnning. The cast iron cookware was pretty comical. I really wanted to see a close up shot of the knife.

Got your e-mail Carl, thank you.

Yeah, never saw the knife. We tried to look up the background on the show in the guide but it was basically blank.

Not quite sure why he tried as he clearly wasn't cut out for it. Must have wanted his 15 minutes of fame. He seemed a little "off" too!

Anyway, agreed, two thumbs down.

PrimitiveMan, I got a delivery failure when attempting to respond to your e-mail.

watched 30 seconds of it on youtube and gave up. the guy definetly does not possess the psychological strength/training to be out there like that regardless of how much equipment he has.

edit: i was watching a clip where he sat there and balled his eyes out and then proceeded to explain that he was crying alot.

Sounds like a dude that wanted to see if he could make it, as a side note it seems his rifle is an air rifle.

I gave up on the guy when he was starving and didn't shoot a duck to eat because duck season was two weeks away.

I obey the game laws at home, but if I'm starving in the Yukon, I'm sorry it's Duckkabob for dinner!

I felt really sorry for that guy. He has obviously put himself into a situation which is waaaay beyond his abilities.

He complains about the weight he is carrying and then you see he is carrying the weight of cast iron cookware!

I caught the last 15 minutes of the last show after he opted out. He admits he was in waaay over his head.

Most of us on the internet are

I have to give him a nod. How many people have gone over a month alone in the woods?
