Alot of us will be getting our BM42's real soon!!

Hey John, I'd send it back. Mods on old stuff is one thing, but you just bought it, its worth returning. My 2 cents. E

JohninNH I just got my plain edge today and I have the same problem with my cups. When I first took it out of the sheath I couldn't get the latch to open. I used the side of a table to open it. It stays about a 1/4" open because of the cup depth. Ican't get it to close now. All this waiting and now it has to go back!

All of mine have been tight out of the box, though not so tight that I had trouble opening them (says the stick player). Anyway, they do seem to loosen up quickly as everything gets set into its place. I'd encourage you to play with it for a week or two. You can always send it back later.

Other than my problem with the cups, this Knife ROCKS!! It felt great right out of the sheath. I was able to do my "routine" without a single mistake right away. My buddy saw me flipping it and swore I had gotten allot faster. This thing really moves.

I just got my BM 42 on Friday. It is a dream come true. I love the lightness of the knife. It is a lot easier to carry than the stainless steel handle models. It noves wonderfully. I see the evolution of the design. The titanium is wonderful in your hand and is easier to grip than the stainless. I hope they come out with a 3" bladed titanium version.
