A 415 in S30V would be a great user especially if the price was reasonable (like the premium steel Dorado's which retail for about $5-$10 more than 420HC).
For handles I'd prefer micarta or glass reinforced synthetic instead of rubber. I'd also like to see what the wood scales look like on a 415 (would it look ok with the black synthetic bolster?).
The black bolster and the checkered handle are actually all one piece. The rubber handle has a glass reinforced nylon core, so they're actually pretty tough. They're made the same way that the Alpha rubber grips are made, but they feel a lot grippier.
Earlier in this thread someone asked why there was such a weight difference between teh 419 and the 415. The reason is that the 419 uses solid sintered brass for the handle and the wood adds weigth as well. We added as many lightening holes as we could underneath the wood, so it still weighs less than an Alpha, but not much. The 415, on the other hand, is remarkably light despite its size - the steel handle sides are .080" thick and they have nice big lightening holes under the rubber handle. The Alpha handle sides are.100" thick and the lightening holes are smaller. Anyhow, I hope that helps a little. - Jim

NOW,,,, I just paid attention to that little curve in the blade just in front of the choil.
Is that going to sharpen ok on my clamp lansky system?

I did see that knife - it's an interesting concept. We've put a lot of materials on 110 handles, but I haven't seen that yet - I don't know if it has been done before, and the 110 is kind of a 'sacred cow' at Buck, so I'm not sure if we'll see anything like that in the future....

Good Morning Larry LOL![]()
Don't be afraid to hold back Larry![]()
I do agree though! How about a drop point version right away?
I really would like the upgraded steel available in a standard model...![]()
