Alright, Beckerheads, Time to Kiss and Tell. . . . . .

I looked and looked, but couldn't find things I needed badly enough under the discounts. I was severely tempted to get some firesteels and a machete, but you know that Maxped bottle holder thread had me thinking along that line, and that BK-2 w/ the new handles and stripped was looking sharp as well...:D
 
I'm PO'ed. Went through all the hassle of doing the order on my phone only to get a message that the coupon has expired. It's only ten o'clock in Georgia. I had two lights, a flask, and a steel in my cart.

i bought this egear trekker butane lighter and a 3/8"x4" firesteel. i love playing with these 80 mph lighters...the freaking thing looks like a jet engine!

Nah. About all I saw was a bobcat. Finally found a hot trail yesterday with plenty of sign--fresh scrapes and more deer scat than you could shake a stick at. Hunted it hard this a.m. but all I saw were turkeys and woodpeckers.

I emailed goinggear to see about the coupon. I was mainly ticked because of the crappy signal on the Interstate. Took forever to get the cart set up and then there was no pay off.
 
Got a backpack, water reservoir (camelbak) and a new tactical flashlight....

I didn't take advantage of the discount. I wanted too. I'm in the market for a Maxpedition bag, but those were excluded. I'm really happy to see things like this starting to pick up, however. Very cool.
 
Nah, the discount didn't last past Sunday night at midnight. I tried it just after midnight CST and it didn't work. I ended up using the BFC discount code to snag a 1/2"x4 firesteel and a striker.

Let's see, I got:

2x ENO Single Nest Hammocks, one in black/khaki, one in red/charcoal
2x Howler Whistle
5x Aerowave zipperpull survival whistle
2x fresnel lens, credit card sized
1x Keep2Go 6 pack
2x Badger Firesteel (3/8"x4")

And for now that was it. Skipped the headlamp, wasn't really in the mood to drop a ton on a flashlight. Went to Wal-Mart and picked up one from there for $15 that will work fine. Only got a few things left to get. Specifically a GI Poncho, or a non-GI one if it is decently sized, and a bivvy bag, and I should be set for this spring. Going to pick up some ratcheting straps for the hammock once it gets in.

just got my package. holy crap, the bottom of the bubble-padded envelope was pretty wet and shredded wide open! good thing, everything inside were still there...whew!

Thanks to Moose and Storl and the Beckerheads....here's my gear that I bought.

It's a Surefire 6px Pro (the one in the middle). I like the way it feels better than the original 6p and I like the 2 modes. The 6p has a Malkoff drop-in and is the brightest of the bunch, but all are plenty bright.
