Alright guys, Sebenza or new pistol?

Thanks all keep em coming as of now Im still on the fence lone Wolfe pm me with the used seb details if you would ma'am.

Go to a glock forum and ask this question. :) I own 11 Glocks, and 3 CRKs. As a true patriot, it is essential that you keep this correct 3:1 or 4:1 ratio in your arsenal. I'm pretty sure its in the Constitution somewhere. So get the baby Glock, and start throwing an occasional spare $5 or $10 in the plastic Glock box. Before you know it, you will have enough saved up for a nice Sebenza. Just remember to keep that ratio in place.

Get a large Sebenza.
Maybe one with micarta inlay.
That should make you happy a long time.

As much as I like knives, I only haved 3 edged tools that are over $300. Have 14 guns that are over $300. No glocks though.

It's an interesting question in general (new knife or gun that is), and I actually just had the same debate the other day. For me, and I'll tip my hand here, if all other things are constant it'll be the knife. I take out and use the knives I EDC probably 20 or more times a day, not to mention the time I spend opening and closing them just for pure fun. My guns are great and I certainly enjoy them, but they don't get the daily utility or carry (I'm not LE or Military) my knives do. From a pure utilitarian standpoint, choosing the one you are most likely to get the most and best use out of is probably the wiser choice.

That being said, it is worth considering the extra utility over what you already carry. If you already really enjoy your pistol, consider how much more use, utility and enjoyment you would get from a new one and compare the same criteria for your knife.

In addition to the pure utilitarian approach, I always ask myself the same question when buying new gear as a matter of my personal philosophy- how does this piece fit in my dream setup? I hate buying anything that I know will be obsolete the moment I can afford another upgrade. I was recently on the fence about my next knife purchase, and after I felt of the CRK's I knew that was the knife I want to EDC for years to come. If a CRK is something you'll want to replace in the short to medium run with something different (a custom, a hinderer, a strider, or something else out there), and a glock is something that you will continue to desire and use for a more extended period it may be the better call- of course the inverse is true as well.

All of that being said, hopefully by this time tomorrow I'll have my first CRK ordered, so you can see how the decision process came down on me. You may certainly have different needs and uses that would sway you in the opposite direction, but if you are thoughtful in which you want first I'm sure you'll be thrilled with either.

Well, I have 7 Glocks, and as of right now, 6 CRKs.

Hard to go wrong with either.

I can tell you, the CRKs get used a lot more than the Glocks do, that is for sure.

Compare a Sebenza to the mean/median of the knife universe, and then compare the same of a Glock (disclaimer, long time Glock shooter). Not really even close, is it? However, it really depends on what your needs are. If you are past the "needs" stage, no accounting for "wants". FWIW, I'm currently trying hard not to sell everything not nailed down to feed my new CRK addiction.

It is easy to make a case for utility. The Glock is the Timex of the gun world. Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. The Sebenza is a Luxury item, like a high end 1911.

Ive had numerous glocks come and go, there is nothing special about them (I have two now). I never had a feeling of loss when they went. I have Several Wilson Combat 1911's, and have sold a couple...trust me there was a feeling of loss there! I have gone through a few Benchmades and 'eh no big deal. However my Sebenza is like one of my Wilsons, if it goes, or wears out I will notice the loss.

Down the road you will probably be able to justify a Glock, but if money is tight you won't be able to justify a $425 pocket knife. There is a chance if you don't do it now you never will.

All I'm getting at is either way you go, make sure you "spoil" yourself at some point and get the Sebenza! Life is too short and hard not to!

A far better explanation of my dream setup point. Sorry, too much cold medicine has cut into any eloquence I may have once had.

Nj and hi gear really great well thought out posts, Im really really leaning now towards a Sebenza just gotta avoid the gun shop for awhile:) keep em coming guys I truly appreciate all the advice.

Someone said it earlier the banning of the glocks is definitely a concern of mine

That won't happen.

Not sure what this means really??? I'm as patriotic as the next fellow, but have over 100 knives, and only 16 guns.

OP, only you can decide which you need/want the most. I would say both, but can't really suggest which you should get first.
If you're happy with the 649 maybe get the Sebenza first.
The Sebenza is at the top of the knife world IMO, and my Glock 27 is the gun I carry everyday. Packs alot of firepower for such a small lightweight gun, carries well, accurate, and has never jammed in the 10 years I've had it. I did add a pinky extension to a few of the magazines, and it now fits my large hand well.

Gotta appreciate the Wilson's...

I like the way you think :D

I only have three Glocks right now but I have Seven CRK's, looks like I need to go and buy the other three Glocks that I've been dreaming of to get closer to the proper Glock to CRK ratio !

You've really received some good honest advice in this thread, I bet that the siren song of the Sebenza has been ringing louder and louder in your ears throughout the day- yep, there it is ;D
I suspect that your next thread will be to tell us all about your new knife, may I suggest the Insingo as a great first Sebenza, in my opinion, it's the best they offer.

It's too bad you sold me those starburst grips that matched your StarTac ;D
They'd have looked great in that pic Bro.

Started new thread, sorry for hijak
Now back to your regularly scheduled thread!

Buy the Sebenza!
