That Ka-Bar is amazing
They've been cleaned up, and the blade of the Ka-Bar was painted with an epoxy paint (something like Aluminahyde II or maybe VHT chassis and rollbar paint) close to 20 years ago when I was retired and it went on the shelf. I've had it since the 90s, and it's been around the world in my time in the Army and National Guard. The light colored patch of leather on the front and back are a "field expedient repair," a piece of leather glued on because the point was coming through. It was one of those temporary things until I replaced the sheath but I just never got around to it. Since it's been on the shelf, it's just been oiled, waxed, and a few coats of wax on the handle. It's pretty beat up from hitting rocks, sand, and trees, but not as bad as I would have thought.
I've had the 710 since soon after it came out, so late 90s. I have another that's a bit older but realized I didn't like the half serrations serrations as much. I've carried and used it enough that the handle scales are noticeably smoother than my other one.
