Altoids Survival Tin knife

I may need to get one of those little Fenix lights. They are small enough that I might actually carry one plus they are $15.

I like the Ritter RSK Mk5, and it comes with its own Altoids tin. Doug Ritter's site describes how to use the tin, Mk5, and a Pocket Survival Pak, as well as how to fit it all in the tin.

i recently picked up one of those little Ritter RSK MK5's... they're cool little knives, especially for the price... mine came plenty sharp, despite the mystery steel.. i was impressed.. the tin it comes seems to be a little deeper than the standard altoids tins...

Thanks pitdog for the kind words.

Here is pic of my latest PSK kit knife for myself anyways lol. It is a Final Option Knife, but wider and I have a more deeper cut out area for my finger. It keeps my finger from sliding up on the blade. I put a blade coating on this one just for fun, in stead of leaving it with a satin finish.

Kelly Girl !!!:D

Love that design Bryan !

I like the fact that two of my favourite makers John ( JK Knives) and Bryan ( Breeden Knives) are passing ideas in this thread...I'm thinking they should get their heads together and do a collaboration knife !!!!!

Those two guys are my favorite knifemakers as well. A collaboration project would be most welcome.

Hi pitdog, Yea Kelly Girl is a cutie lol

Thanks, I like that little knife too. I have been making some of them little PSK type of knives out of the 1095 steel and I am really happy with it. It is 1/2 the price of 0-1 steel and it really does heat treat great and sharpens up so freaking nice.

I was thinking..(Scary huh?)..This is a kit for the "oops" and "oh sh*t" moments in life right? If the little blade had a flat kydex sheath with 2 holes in the bottom, and the holes in the tang were in pairs (upper an lower ::: ) then when you need it..a 4-5 inch green stick, a bit of lacing and you got a neck knife! Like the lil black Final Option of Bryans, Reminds me of a miniature kitchen knife. I may have to get up with him on that..like I NEED any more knives!!!!

Anrkst6973, Yea thes little knives have there place. They are way better than a little razor blade. they are light and strong and can be made so freaking scary sharp it is just crazy. With knife like these little dudes you can cut fishing line, skin and clean game, strike your firesteel, tie the knife off to end of a stick for getting at and cutting fruit out of a tree or a high place that you can not reach, try that with a razor blade:eek: lol, cutting tape and cleaning your finger nails. That is the least of what you can do with them.

It really is just another advantage and backup incase you were to loose your main knife:eek::mad:.

For such cheap insurance they really are worth it.

Well that is what I think anyways lol.
