For many years I had one pocket knife, an SAK Spartan. I always carried it and it did everything I wanted it to despite it never being very sharp. It was my most useful tool because it was always there.
After recently becoming more interested in knives and acquiring a dozen or so more I find I spend more time worrying if they are sharp enough , testing their sharpness, fiddling and fidgeting with them, rather than actually using them for any practical reason . Since I retired I don't even need to use a knife very often.
I think I am becoming a little obsessed ! Will have to stop watching so many knife videos on Youtube.

I remember when I was young, you carried a knife & you used a knife. You couldn't fidget with them or you'd lose a finger. Fast forward to now & I'm too old for fidget toys, but dern if these knives don't fill the need.

ps. I wonder how many knives could you attach to this thing?

What type of knives are you interested in? I’m betting you could get some excellent recommendations here!

That said.. Welcome to the madness!

IM beat me to it - you are here, so you are alittle weird about knives.

i still maintain a single EDC knife - but that doesnt stop me from buying, trading, recieving, and giving knives all over the place

I got pocketknives as a kid but never thought much about them. We played with them in playground games and whittled sticks and such and did other things with them that a kid would use a knife for. Been carrying for years, carried a Buck 303 and a 110 for years on a police dept. They were tools. Have a complete set of 7 kitchen knives and a couple knives in the tackle box and two in my hunting pack. Tools, just used them as needed.

About four months ago for some reason I started paying attention to them and being more conscious of them and their use. Now I think about them a lot, don't know why. I've bought five nice ones, one slip blade and four fixed blades. I look at everyone's pictures on this board and think they are good looking. You'd think that when you see one pocket knife you've seen them all. This is not necessarily so. I guess it's kind of like looking a pretty women, same general shape and size but all different in their own ways. I guess I'll keep looking at the knives and appreciating them and try not to buy any more for awhile. The women I'll leave alone. I'm older and they are troublesome.

It's easier to rent a woman than a knife.

I’m Ryan, and I’m a flipaholic.

My disease started with an assisted open Kershaw Clash, and spiraled out of control from there. Before I knew it, I was flipping a ZT in my right hand, while my left hand was busy ordering a Kizer on my phone.

I feel so ashamed.

Whew. I feel better. Thank you guys for being here.

Now, I’m going to go back to staring at my shipment tracking for my Megalodon.
