as of late, I have started carrying THREE knives on my person daily... a small fixed blade (Izula II with TKC G-10 handles or the Candiru w/G-10 as well), a Vic Farmer (both the fixed blade and the Farmer in a pocket sheath), and ive now added a one hand opener (one of my various Spydies). those three plus a F1 in my EDC bag, so in all actuality im now toting 4 knives with me everywhere I go. so now im gonna ask the guys/gals on the board...what do you think, overkill or not? they all get used, but in all honesty, the ESEE and the Farmer see the most use, but something in me says "I cant leave this one behind, I might need it" :D LOL

Sounds about right. Right now I have a Vic Farmer in my left front, a gec in my right front, and a desert sand blur in the back right along with my new Queen swing guard... Mostly because when I change pants everything in the pockets just gets moved on over to the clean pair, but it's kind of fun being able to select just exactly which knife you want to use for a given task.

Gotta take the time to clean out my pockets one of these days, though...

Personally, I think you also need a neck knife, a boot knife and a junglas in your car. Oh, I forgot the peanut in your coin pocket.

I carry 2-3 minimum, man. As long as they're not pulling your pants down when you walk, I'd say you're good. Redundancy is not a flaw in carrying knives. You may have forgotten to sharpen one and need to do some kind of surgery one day--you never know. I'd much rather have 3-6 blades than 1-2, honestly.

Keep totin'!

Yes.

I carry my one small folder daily and 99% of the time I only use it to flick open.

I see these edc threads and wondrr why people carry 3-4 knives and flashlights....

lolol...although i own a couple, ive never been a fan of the neck knives for carry, and I do own a Benchmade push dagger that probably would work as a boot knife. my Junglas is strapped to my big "go bag"... and ive never been attracted to the really small "traditional" style folders.

personally i think one is enough unless you're going camping or something. some years i worked outside i carried nothing but a $10 stanley retractable and it worked out fine.

I carry a flashlight as well (a PD22), because IN MY OPINION anyone who carries a pistol everyday should also carry a light.

They are tactical flashlights, You blind the guy with the strobe feature and bop him on the head. :jerk it: lol

Yes of course four knives is too many to carry at one time. This is Blade Forums not Blades Forums. I don't know anyone here that would even consider carrying more than one knife at a time. You must be sick.

I have no problem w/ that...as long as you're not duct taping them onto your clothing. :D

But I read replies like this and wonder why people don't carry 3-4 knives and flashlights.......

I carry at least two, usually three at a time if i am not at work. (where i am limited to one small carry)Different blade shapes and styles, different uses.

A workman needs his tools.

And, perhaps, if you left them behind someone might use them to open paint cans, pry open stuck windows, sell them, loan them to children for show and tell, practice throwing them, stir the porridge with them or give them to the sheeple for melting down. Probably best for you to keep them with you I figure. Yea. :)

Seriously, here is just the stuff on me tonight with sharp edges of one sort or another (the black card is a folding knife, Sinclair), not sure why I included the beaner but it is carried on a belt loop most days (holds my cap when not on my noggin):
