Am I Insane?

I have a couple of fat ASH1s with standard grips and thin/med/fat with mags. I like both, I always seen to come back to the mags though. I WOULD love a custom 3B2 type blade (there was one at KC this year if what I am seeing on ebay is correct) as I think that is a great size !!!

Don't see those 3B2's come up for sale very often. Anywhere on the net. Just received my first CG after six Skinnie's and LE's, so really got used to that thinner blade. But if I needed to slice my way out of my Nissan, the Fatty is up to bat...;-)

The skinnies will slice you out of a sheetmetal cage just fine without all the extra resistance, ;) the fatty on the other hand will let you pry your way out better though. A longer blade is highly preferred for 'can opening' tasks like extracting yourself from a car as the length lets you cut a longer section with each pull. I learned that by trying it out firsthand with different models & thickness'. The same thing applies to cutting up tires. The fatties are really good at splitting wood though! Can't go wrong with both. :)

Thanks Tim. Interesting observations. I do like that extra "pry-ability" when you may need it. I don't camp much (at all!), now, but did 20 years ago, and remember how useful a wide blade can be around camp...;-)

But sane enough to distinguish right from wrong. And we are right...;-)
