Am I missing any 0550s?

I know a guy nicknamed "poolhustler" who has a NIB / MINT ZT0551 Serial #0029 in his safe.

From what I understand he could be convinced to part with it... :)

Well, Sir..

I happen to know a guy who might want to purchase a 0551 NIB from a guy who knew a guy named poolhustler.. If we could get these guys together on August first when my guy gets paid.. My guy might be willing to do some business with that guy you know.

I have seen the El Max knives in the past. It was before I started collecting so I didn't think much of it at the time. I would love to figure out where those typos fit into the scheme of things...is there another 0550 I need to complete my collection?
 
Man this was an entertaining thread to stumble across, Mike made out like it was 3 Christmases in a row and all he did was ask a question! Awesome.

I think there was just one type of 0550BLK and the lock side looks like the 0550 Gen. 2.

Are you saying there's a new 0550BLK where the lock side looks like 0550 Gen. 3 with the lock bar insert?

Also, I so wish they'd have put a DLC coating on the lockbar side of the blk.
A totally blacked out 0550 would have been sssooooo badass.
 
And if somebody knows a guy who knows a guy who has a blk with a DLC lock side, I call dibs!

I've "heard" about various 1.5 versions. Apparently, some with Gen 1 lock side and Gen 2 liner and scale. Others mixed and vice versa. Perhaps ZT was just using up various inventory transitioning from Gen 1 to Gen 2.

This sounds very likely to me, just using up parts to make functional knives with minor mismatches. Mine has the clip screw holes for a gen 2 clip on the lock side and holes for the gen 1 clip G10 side.

That's exactly what they did. My Gen. 1.5 has Gen2 Ti side with the different(new) pocket clip and the Gen. 1 G10 side. Those were the transition 550 knives.
 
The only Gen 3 0550BLK that I've seen was the one I had and got rid of. And it wasn't like that from the factory. I sent it in and had a Gen 3 lock side put on it because it wasn't first Ti frame lock and I wore it down closing it improperly so it developed lock rock.
 
Update: thanks to some amazing people on these forums and some amazing luck, I'm now only one LNIB Gen 2 away from having the full set. Prototype, 0551, 0550 Elmax, Gen 1, Gen 2 BLK, Gen 2 BW, Gen 3, Gen 3 BLK.. One left!
