Am I qualified to host a forum on khukuris, kamis, Gurkhas and Nepal?

Just checked my ticket, Rusty, and it was issued by the Civil Aeronautics Administration -- CAA. Hadn't looked at it for years so couldn't remember.

All I can tell you about that tobacco, Will, is if it was the finest I would certainly hate to smoke the worst.

Bill

I'm way, way too young to even know what the CAA was. Was it a precursor to the CIA?

Yes, John, you are too young. This is why you do not know how to tie aviation knots and rig steel cable that will pass inspection. Things every aviator ought to know. And I'll bet you don't even own a pair of goggles and a scarf!

Bill

Bill, I used to own goggles. Especially when I went out on blind dates. I used to call them Beer Goggles.

Bill, do they have aviation knots on mail buoys or is that what they used to secure buckets of steam with?

Let us see here;
You offer a very good product, very good customer service, have historical knowledge of Nepal, and the Khukuris you sell, are well educated, pass for a genteleman, and do not have an attitude !
I am sorry Bill your over qualified for this position ! Your pink slip is in the mail.

Like the man said, you're a fixture and Mike probably would chain you up next to Spark if you even thought about leaving.
Airplanes?
I build them and you expect me to actually RIDE in one? I'll take a nice safe balloon, thanks!

(Kidding!)

I cut it, and I cut it, and it's STILL too short!

Hi Ken:

I built them AND rode in them which tells you how smart I am. If man were meant to fly God would have given him feathers.

Bill

Sorry I'm late.

Bill unqualified? I humbly disagree.

Well Bill, I guess you're gonna have to go out w/ khukri in hand w/ Xena style war yell and decapitate someone. Yikes

BTW, that Khukir rum was cool, I don't drink but I'd get one. How to display is a question.

Look at the "Sikh knife" and "Take a look..." threads and Bill's response...

If he's knowlegeable enough to know what's within his area of expertise ( thees ) and what's outside of it ( kirpans ) and honest enough to admit it, I for one will accept what he says as reliable until proven otherwise ( and we all make mistakes and have bad days ) and trust that if he realizes he was wrong on something he'll tell us.

Now how does that sound as to his qualifications to host this forum?

Thanks, Russ. I'd love to be an expert on everything but sad truth is I don't feel I'm an expert on anything.

Bill

Well,I guess that I started something,AGAIN!My Dad was CAA certified as an airman. After his entry into Naval Avition in 1942,that became a moot point.Don`t you just love it!
