Am I the only one?

Just guessing but, it may have something to do with your "matter of fact" style of posting opinions. The "My point of view is right, everything else isn't" tinge didn't go over well. Just because I don't have a specific daily use for a 12" OAL fixed blade doesn't mean I find it useless or unwarranted. YMMV, buy what you like.
 
I like em both, and multi-tools, and machetes, and axes, and swords, and guns. Wish I could carry them all, but that is too much weight, unfortunately I work with scientists, and office ladies, and other people from all over the world on a daily basis, no one even knows really that I have a folder on me at all times, and if was to wear a fixed blade all the time, I would pretty much have to wear a coat all the time, could freak out some of the less Saavy, and it is too hot in Texas to always be wearing a coat, but I am not above carrying an Automatic knife or a Balisong, if I want to feel extra "Bad-ass" that day. I do keep a fixed blade in my truck, my 3-day "Get Home Bag", and in my briefcase, "just cause".
