Am I weird for not liking to use clips?

I use the clips on all my tools. The two knives I carry every day, one left and the other right. The Leatherman Charge Ti I never leave home without. ANd usually, though not always, my Olight M30 triton 700 lumen flashlight.

If your not using the clips, where are you carrying your knife? Belt sheath? Down in the bottom of your pocket with your keys, coins and pocket lint? No thanks.

Pocket clips. Don't leave home without them.

At work in the office no clip. Rides in the bottom of pocket (whatever I am carrying). At home, I use the clip usually but not always. Pocket lint is pretty forgiving, just ask my peanut :)

I have shredded too many jeans pockets to like clips anymore. I started off with pocket and sheath knives and have come full circle to prefering them once again.

First thing my father does when he gets a new knife is takes, "This silly f-ing clip off". He is convinced that its much easier to loose the knife when its clipped to his pocket then when its down deep. Only problem is Im not sure if hes aloud to have it that way :P.

The only knife I ever lost did not have a pocket clip. Somehow I dropped it while I was distracted, had a handfull of stuff and the knife went bye-bye. When I realized it, I looked all over and never found it. The other day my supervisor at work messaged me that it was found under a freezer in the company tool crib, and she has it locked in her desk drawer, for when I return (I'm assigned temporarily to another aircraft). Got to love a female supervisor who is cool like that.

Other than that, never in many years of carrying clipped objects, have I even come close to losing one. Of course, the first thing I do when I get a new knife is make sure the clip is adjusted real tight, Cold Steel tight.

It's also been years since I shredded a pair of jeans with a clipped knife. My Levi's seem unfazed by tight pocket clips. I've put clips on knives that came sans clip.

I dislike clips myself and usually remove them.

I have a small sebenza with pocket pouch and tried removing clip but seems stuck.

Not really. It's all about preference. I LITERALLY just took the clip of my Delica this morning. I like clips, and I like no clips.
I don't really have a preference. It's just a bit nicer beig able to drop your knife back into your pocket after using it vs having to clip it back on right.

For me, it depends one the knife and where I am.
At work: usually a slip joint or small locking folder, which are carried in a pouch only
At home: the slipjoint is joined by A larger folder clipped to my pants or shorts

So my answer is it depends on the situation, but I can see both sides of the argument

Tell your dad he's not alone! Furthermore, I have no desire to advertise to anyone that I'm carrying a knife. I'll leave that to a hardier breed of men that I.

Depends on the situation and the knife. 3" and under and they're going in the pocket. Any greater and a clip (or sheath) becomes mandatory. In a lot of situations I'll just opt for the smaller, pocket carried knife.

I don't use clips and therefore stopped buying knives which are to big for pocket wear.
The problem I have with clips is they get in the way when I want to get something out of my pocket.
And I don't like people seeing I'm carrying a knife. Especially since knives with clips are not exactly sheeple friendly like a Victorinox or slipjoint.

Me too! In fact, I'm still trying to unwind some knives I'll never carry because they're just too darn big.

Depends on what type of pants I might be wearing but use the clip less. Really like to have my knife out of sight, same for my .38.

I have a few knives with clips, but often don't use them. Sometimes even remove them if they get in the way. If a knife is too big to be carried in a pocket, I use a sheath,

Awesome; I am now officially a hardier breed of man.
Woohoo!!! :D

I wish chris reeve left the clip optional instead since his knives come with leather pouch.

Before clips, I had quite a collection of missing knives, starting from when I was 8 (well, I didn't actually have them...)

Now I retain every knife I buy.
I like clips. :)

I like to take the clips off of small knives like the Leek and smaller in favor of a lanyard. Anything larger than a Leek keeps it clip. I will say a knife without it's clip is more comfortable in hand.
