I recently bought a 3 inch flipper it is awesome! First let me say this I have a mini griptilian in 154cm I like it. I have a ZT 0450 and its ok. I also have a spyderco PM2, I paid 120 for the pm2, 79 for the mini grip and 100 for the ZT. I guess all of you are wondering by now what 3 inch flipper did I buy well first let me say I spent the better part of the day trying to kill this little flipper, I cut carpet, cardboard, I beat it into wood and I am currently slicing copy paper like butter! Now as soon as I got home last night right out of the box I sharpened it for an hour or so got it scary sharp and its still scary sharp. Are you sold yet well I paid $3.57 plus tax for it at Walmart. It has nothing printed on it does not say what steel it is or anything like that, does not even say where it was made and I can honestly say it is a great knife.

I don't know how his knife would compare to a hinder but one thing is certain ZT could be put out of business by this knife. I mean 3.57 tight tolerance, perfect centering, no blade play, blade stays sharp, I mean don't get me wrong ZT makes a nice knife, spyderco, does to, so does Bm but money to quality ratio my ZT, benchmade, and spyderco, should be blowing this knife out of the park but in reality they are head to head. Now I know people think if I pay more I get more but that just is not the case with this knife. In fact I've handled knives that cost a lot more that could learn something or two from Ozawa trail! Hey I don't wanna hear no criticism till you buy on of these and put it through its paces!

There is a lengthy thread on here about your knife and most agreed it was an amazing knife for the money.

I doubt ZT will be put out of business by it, but glad you like your knife.

Sigh, another one of these threads lol Glad you enjoy it, at least your grail knife was under 5.00$.

A 3.57$ walmart knife with plastic washers put zt out of business?!? I hope that was a joke. If it was it was a terrible joke.

I was gifted one and it's not anywhere close to the name brands the op mentioned. I can grap it and make the blade flex up and down with hand pressure. The steel sharpens easy, doesn't hold an edge at all. It's just worth about what it cost, imo. And for your information it was made in China.

I just went and tried it for side to side, blade play, felt tight until I put some strength on it and guess what the blade wobbled. I don't think it's all that.

You can find the thread mentioned under, "Ozark Trail". It didn't go by Ozawa last year.

I messed with this one a few seconds, with moderate hand pressure and it weakened right up. OK, for light cutting but not in the same ballpark as ZT, Benchmade or Spyderco. They've copied a good design as cheaply as possible and well, it's still cheap though.

You don't know how it compares to a Hinderer?

How do you think it does? Answer: compared to a Hinderer, that walmart "blade" can't even be called a knife.

I have one of these, for the money they are decent enough knives. However to say they are on par with Spyderco, ZT and Benchmade is just nuts (sorry). It takes a decent edge but folds like aluminum foil when used a lot. Also, comparing it to a Hinderer (or any higher end knife) is just silly, that is like comparing a golf cart to a Ferrari. It's a good knife for under $5 but you are way off in your comparisons, but if you like it then enjoy it, you will save a ton of money if this is all the quality you're looking for.
Ozark next to some real quality knives!

I have one. Pretty solid but it takes only a barely adequate edge which gets dull very quickly compared to every other knife I've owned.

I'm not going to knock your knife it's cool you enjoy it but you will hear criticism if you attempt to compare a $3.57 + tax knife to a Hinderer.

i use one to open bottles of hydrochloric acid at work all day, its been going strong for about 2 months now even though the acid has made the once sharp edge pretty dull.

I have one of these, the steel is 420j with a decent heat treat.

After a few slices through cardboard it was dull and the edge was rolling.

Incredibly well built knife for 4$.

But slicing paper like butter after cutting carpet and cardboard I feel is a serious exaggeration

holy grip strength, batman:eek:

When I saw the title of this thread I just knew it was gonna be another thread about this ugly thing. I have no clue why people like these ugly curvy wide flippers with this horrible blade shape. It doesn't have as much belly as a clip or drop point, and it doesn't have that awesome tip placement as an actual sheepsfoot blade. The main advantage of a sheepsfoot is the fact that you only need a slight angle on your knife to have a tip to open stuff with. Trying to accomplish both just negates the purpose of either.
Whoever designed thus blade shape is a moron.
