Hello to everyone at BladeForums, hope y'all are doin' fine. I'm looking to get a Ka-Bar Large Heavy Bowie as my big blade chopper/bushcrafter; while doing some research on online knife retailers carrying it, I came across an Amazon.com seller called "Blade Shop" (http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html?ie=UTF8&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&me=A3I70CQVO3O5NQ). They have a decent price for it & it's eligible for Amazon's free shipping... but the name immediately hit a mental trigger so I hopped on here for some info; lo & behold there was the "problems with TheBladeShop ?" thread (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=443023), with a few mentions of the Amazon shop, but I didn't see any responses on its relation to thebladeshop.com (or I might have missed a response, my gut was wrenching reading those horror stories...). So, in doing double & triple checks on store research, I wanted to know if the Amazon.com Blade Shop has *any* relation to that place of nightmares, or has any experience ordering from them on Amazon. The feedback looks good on the store itself, but as Obi-Wan put it, "One can never be too sure..."

Not sure if it's the same one or not. As you note, the ratings on Amazon are pretty good. But, like you, I'm always a little leery.
If I'm looking at the right one, it does say fulfilled by Amazon...sooooo you should be safe. There are also 14 very positive reviews on that item.

If you want to totally avoid the worry, try New Graham, Knifecenter, or Knifeworks. You will have to pay shipping but you know you won't have any problems.

Heh yeah true enough on shopping at KC, KW & NG; what's a few more bucks for a guarantee of reliable service.

It's just too easy these days to falll under the allure of "oh man it's X dollars cheaper and a shipping deal!" (I'd get several life sentences w/ no parole if the notion were as such hahah.) then get mudded w/ crappy service. Thanks for the response Alann45.

I do not think they are one in the same. Amazon would not tolerate it for one second. Now with that said I believe they are a distributor selling direct to the public. No dealer can afford 50% off dealer pricing as their normal pricing. That is enough to keep me from buying there. Like them to prove me wrong. If anyone has ever purchased from them look at the zip code on the shipping label. If southern California, distributor. If North Carolina, distributor. If southern Florida, distributor just to mention a few.

Fulfilled by Amazon so Amazon is shipping it. Bear in the mind the handle diameter is large on that knife so it may not be ideal if you have small hands.

I did some research as a follow-up on a post I wrote in another thread. Blade Shop on Amazon is out of Ohio, their site is Blade Shop.net, so it is very unlikely they are the same crooks as The Blade Shop in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Plus, as One A Day noted, Amazon would not tolerate Eddie and his minions. Neither would they be able to offer PayPal checkout.

It would be nice to hear some feedback about this dealer.
