I picked up some Amboyna Burl this spring and had to fine folks at K&G stabilize it for me. I got back some pretty impressive wood...so I had to make a bowie.

This Bowie/Fighter has a 5 1/2" hand-rubbed blade of 5160 high carbon, spring steel with a long false top bevel and a full distal taper (10 1/4" total length). The contoured guard and pin are nickle-silver. The handle is stabilized Amboyna Burl wood with an obsidian throat and black spacer. The knife is shown with a carved "lion's head" blade sheath and tooled belt loop by Tess.
Price, with leather sheath: $325.00, plus shipping.

Visa, MasterCard and Paypal are all fine and your satisfaction is always guaranteed.

That is a gorgeous piece, J. Any chance you could post a close-up pic of the handle? I'm an Amboyna burl nut and can't get enough of that wonderful wood. :D

Thanks and all the best,
Mike U.

A very beautiful knife that is just breath-taking with that Amboyna burl handle and obsidian throat.

Really great job, J.!

Thank you for the close-up pic. :D

All the best,
Mike U.

Man, I love amboynia burl. That stuff even smells good. Beautiful knife, by the way.

J,

I've always been happy with the knives that I've gotten from you, but I have to take exception with one! This was not quite the knife that I was expecting! This knife is as close to a piece of art, as ANY knife I've seen - including the biggies at the NYC Custom Shows. You have really outdone yourself with this knife. For one thing, no photo can do justice to beauty and depth of that Ambonya Burl! And the way you blended the Obsidian in...then that seamlessly flows into the Nickel Silver Guard. I am so happy that I decided to buy this knife!! The last time I felt this good after buying a fixed blade, was when I bought my first Don Lozier, that he hand ground on a 1" wheel!!! Damn! My collection just keeps improving! I wish I could say the same about my bank account.

Thanks also to Tess for the cool Roaring Lion Sheath. I can tell a lot of work also went into the sheath. And why not? It should be-fit such knife art.

Ken
