AMC Walking Dead Season 2

Caught The Talking Dead last night and they had some good footage of how the zombie gutting scene was done. Figured I'd grab some stills from it to post here. :)

Playing with the "guts". Hmmm...Mebbe that TG is doublecut after all...?:)

This still shows the purposely left dull edge that one would expect to see on a TV/movie prop...

Dull enough to avoid accidental cuts...Yet sharp enough to saw through cardboard. :D

The talk show format itself is kinda cheesy, but I'm glad that they are including glimpses behind the scenes. That stuff interests me, especially on shows that seem rather complicated to produce. If ya get a chance to catch it, check it out!

When the blond girl was in the bathroom of the RV unarmed and that zombie was trying to get in, did anyone else reach into there pocket to put there hand on there folder and think, "its a good thing i always have at least a folding knife" haha.

I thought the new episode was pretty good, but as the show went on the commercial time got longer and longer. The show was only on for like 5-6 min in between commercials towords the end.

I dont carry a folder, so, well no. :p

but, I always have a fixed blade on my belt, so yea. :D

mixed feelings.

My dream is getting a better sheath on that Gemini! I saw it flopping around in season one and got a bit frustrated. I could have made one in time. :grumpy:

Yeah but they would've put it away bloody and wet and ruined your awesome craftsmanship :)

Aaack! I didn't think about that! I did notice that he didn't bother wiping it down after the gutting, talk about a gummy sheath. :p

So what's the consensus on this knife? Black canvas w/ Double Cut finish? Also, what episode # is it in?

From what I understand its the TGLB in comp finish, tan/black G10 handles, that was direct from B-C, can't wait to get minee!

No, it is Double cut with black/tan G10. It isn't the TGLB either. It is the original.

I don't think so Tim, unless they lied to me?
That is not a fair comment, its quite possible that the knives were bead blasted by the production company to reduce reflection for the cameras. Its a common practice. Look at the pics above, its a non reflective surface.

Sorry you took offense, but his statement directly contridicts that of busse combat, someone is mistaken. I also thought the finish was double cut but was corrected, if the finish was molested on set after the fact its still not double cut , its a modified competition finish blade then?

Double cut is not an option on the Team Gemini light brigade but it was on the original Team Gemini which is what Daryl uses. If you call in asking for one in the style of Daryl's, the closest option you can get with the Light Brigade is the Competition Finish which is probably why you were told that.

Here is a thread where Jerry posts pics of the same color scheme Daryl uses. May even be one of the ones he sent to AMC.

Thanks for clearing it up, I took it literaly as I was told, which is that the one he uses is comp finish, but obviously not.
Either way its whats inside that counts right :)

Yeah, I have toyed with the idea of getting mine blasted. May do it as some point.

Offense? You dont know me very well my friend, it takes a lot, and I mean a LOT to offend me. I'm quite the tough skinned old fart around here. :D

I hope Feezle cleared it up for you, and double cut isnt only available at Busse, Its simply a double media blast. One with an aggressive media and the next with either a smaller bead or ceramic. The effect is essentially peening the surface of the metal, sealing it so to speak. The ones I used to do would bead water. It takes forever to do but the effect is very nice.

They nay have meant that Black and tan G10 in comp finish was as close as you could get to it.
I got a great look at it in the creek scene and it does look like an original double cut TG with black-tan G10.

Not sure if it could be a TGLB. Wouldn't the show have been in production a good while before the TGLB came out.

Correct! :) The original Team Gemini is the one in the show. A few years before the LB version.
