If I'm at home or out, I always have my Case peanut and Zippo, first items I put in my pocket and last items I take out every day.

Louis Bromfield's 1927 Pulitzer Prize-winning "Early Autumn." In addition to his writing, he is known for his 1000-acre Richland County farm, Malabar Farm, one of the first organic, self-sustaining farms in the country. His book Malabar is a must read.

Four of my favorite things, and I get to enjoy all of them at the same time, fresh water fishing, my peanut, smoking my pipe, and my bag that has gone on all my adventures with me, now enjoying its retirement as my fishing bag.

From my grandfather...

Winchester 32 (which I still use), Johnson Woolen Mills Mackinaw (which I use), unbranded (imported?) Bowie (ok, I carry my own 110).

Here's a 1928 Book on Fly Fishing. Along with it is a not very old Montero Bird and Trout knife, forged from 1084 steel with a Ring Bow Yakka handle, by Terry Primos.

Great pictures and some very classic tools. Someone needs to break in those Red Wing boots.

I agree, great pictures! You all are giving me some fantastic ideas for photos.

Here are some of my grandad's tools and his old oil can, along with the Schrade Walden 708Y I gave him the Christmas before he unexpectedly died. Everything is sitting atop an old sled from my wife's childhood.

Haha. The photo with the Kabar was when the boots were new. The pic with the trapper shows them as they are now. I have two pairs of Red Wings and they are the absolute best boots you can buy.
