American knife July

Hickory n steel, I like that all metal Schrade, sort of a USA version of a Mercator. John
Thanks, it used to be a 34OT which had no snap in it's very proud sheep's foot blade.
My plan was to just remove the sheep's foot and spey and reassemble the knife, but my drill bit broke and messed things up.

The plan was to carry the Case half whittler for the whole month but since the little Gerber has been in my pocket I haven't really used it, so I decided to give the Case a break and just stick with the little L.S.T.

Still carrying that 100yr old A.C.co 6" butcher, but in a different temporary sheath .
The one pictured was made from the crude oversized sheath a previous owner had cobbled together for it, but being old it had a mildewy smell I thought I got rid of which somehow returned the next day.

I'll get some good leather one of these days and make something better.

I am genuinely curious. How were you able to ID the manufacturer and date that unmarked generic butcher knife?
The blade size / shape , length of swedge ,and size of the 3 large rivets ( i can see theyre not cutlers compression rivets ) were an exact match to an example I happened upon a picture of online.
I was actually doing a bit of reaserch on a different knife when I happened to see a picture of a knife just like this with the etch on the blade still visible.
I looked into the American cutlery company and found that there were some changes in the company and they shifted to making kitchen scales in the 20's.
