Something about the red scales from Case that can really make you stop and turn around for another look........go on and show a few more ...this time how about red scaled Congress knives..

SWEET! The folding hunter I put on there is an old Schrade Walden 225 with BIG bone scales. That third one down Paulhilborn put on is a deep, dark red, well worn too, the way i like it.

have had my eye on those redbone Case scouts since first seeing one, and I dont normally like the scout pattern except for the WWII models.

Great thread idea  I love old red bone Cases! The only qualifying pic I have handy at the moment - I'll have to shoot some others when I get a chance.

I guess I will crawl in the sandbox and play. I wish I could show you nice jigged bone in several models like the ones above but in the Buck world I am a little limited.

Set of 4 Redbone scaled from the late 1980s, these came in a fancy version also with engraved bolsters.

Set of 4 Smooth Red Delrin scales from same time period.

Set of 4 Sawcut Red Delrin scales, oh yeh I forgot I only have three, I need the SC 309...

In the recent times the Red Dymondwood scales versions with Chuck Bucks signature have been produced.

And from the overseas market come the red Buck versions, don't take many photos of them but they are good knives available to folks who need that price point. This is just representation of the many variations available. Knife in front was the very first one imported and has the American model number stamped in the tang. Now discontinued.

If I were to go an seek out a imported Buck knife it would be this one. I have one and even carry it now and then.

Just to show I am open minded I have these two "other" reds. Red TL-29, Camillus

Primble Barlow, seed was lodged in blade well.

Absolutely great thread:thumbup: Here's some more!

This is like Jason's above---very nice #62055 you have there Jason---mine however has a very dark scale on the back which seems to be very typical of the 70's and older Case Jack's when it comes to their red bone:confused:
Here's a 1974 #62055 equal end jack (aka cigar Jack?)

Funny you should mention this; I have a 1975 Case Stockman 6347HP in red bone but the back scale is BLACK - completely black. I always thought this was a defect, do you think it was done on purpose, like some kind of fad?? Or maybe they were just getting lots of variation with their dyed bone and the policy was to put the darker scale on the back?
