Amsterdam Meet 2015 report of upcoming Spyderco prototypes

GB2 looks like a super refined Griptilian. Not a bad thing.

Firefly is looking nicer than I had anticipated. I dig it.

Why doesn't Spyderco do this in the U.S.?
I'm jealous. And rightfully so! :D

Wow. The GB2 is going to be a must have--even for a lefty like me.

Just when I thought I was through with folders, of course Spyderco pulls me back in.

Oh man that GB 2.... I don't even have to hold this one and I'm going to order 3 right away to match the 3 original GB I have. Simply the best Spyderco line made. Ever.

Damn right it's not a bad thing haha! While I see the similarities its still very clearly a totally different knife. I plan to buy 2.... it seems they have fixed and upgraded everything that needs fixing and upgrading :) . While it's probably not a probability... I really hope we see this one in 2015

Thanks alot for doing this again! That GB2 looks awesome. I wonder if it' s going to completely replace the GB.

Ok, new day so we need some new knives. Out of the 4 that have been posted, we've seen 3 of them before. Please hit us with a plethora of new, never before seen designs this time around (ION, ION, ION)!!!

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but for some reason I was expecting something a little bit different for the GB2. I'd like to see the slimness of the knife next to the original GB.

The Gayle Bradley 2 is a winner and a half. Fixes and refines a lot that I didn't really like on the first one.

The guys over on the Spyderco forums seem fairly certain that the GB1 will go out of production once the GB2 hits shelves.

The GB1 is a phenomenal Spydie in her own right.
I truly wish she could remain in production, but its prolly not feasible. This almost makes me wanna grab another GB1. But, due to the fact of having a nice one already, and more importantly no funds, I'll have to pass.

Gayle Bradley 2 Design Production Prototype

Overall Length: 21,0 cm / 8.27 inches
Blade Length: 9,0 cm / 3.54 inches
Closed Length: 11,5 cm / 4.53 inches
You wouldn't happen to know how much that knife weighs, would you? It appears to have the same general specs as the Bradley 1, so I'm guessing it's still North of 5 ounces.

I know what you mean. I kinda wanna have a pristine GB to hold onto. My current has all of the marks of a well-loved and used knife, so having a safe queen version of what I consider Spyderco's best knife makes sense. :)

I'm not sure, but based on the pics and all of the angles shown, it looks to be a little more svelte in many ways. To quote Mr. Blond "The Folder 2 was a bit narrower, lighter and thinner overall." My guess is that since the GB1 is listed at 5.5 oz, that the GB2 may be around 5.0 oz. if not a tad bit lighter. To speculate even further, when I had my GB1, I took it apart to remove some of the scale and liner material to afford easier access to the lock-bar, I noticed that the majority of the weight was in the blade itself. So, since the GB2 looks to have a more streamlined blade shape, i.e. less material, and obviously based on Mr. Blond's assessment of the entire package itself being narrower, and thinner, I am going to guess that it is indeed under 5.0 oz's.
