Saturday Moose played cameraman in between Momma Moose and the Moosettes absolutely tearing up the range at Beckerhead Camp while I played with the new 16 ...........I started with a piece of oak about the size of a pencil and then batonned down a roughly wrist sized hard maple and carved a notch.....The maple had a debilitating scar and the space it took up will now hold a hammock..........

Those are some mighty tiny cuts and they were made with an outta the box genuine factory edge...

The blade and edge geometry is a lot better than ok......

Looks awesome. Really looking forward to getting one of these. I said earlier I thought I would like the sabre grind better, looks wise that is, but now I don't think so. The FFG looks really good.

Looks like a good time Ethan. Can't wait to get my hands on that 16!

I love that knife, Ethan. I'm seriously looking forward to seeing if I love the saber or FFG more. I have a feeling the FFG will become my go-to bushcrafter, although after spending the afternoon in the backyard with my saber-ground 16, the FFG will have to work extra hard to impress me. I love this knife.

the FFG and the Sabre both look sharp....no pun intended.

I am loving my Sabre, but think I may grab a FFG16 when I get my regular production 17.

Nice pics, glad to see that Becker is workin out for ya ;)

Its very cool to see you use the knife you have been waiting for. Even COOLER that you created it.

Hey...

I would be very happy with the saber ground blade but, and it is a big but, I like the full flat a bunch better......It is a LOT slicier....What a difference a degree or two makes........Details do matter.......I have not done side by side tests as of yet but I am real sure how that will work out..... Either one is a great knife and will work like a charm......I used to worry a lot about flexural breakage but, after doing the flex to break tests on the Necker I have relaxed quite a bit......When I get more than one 16 I will do some real endurance tests.........

All Best....

Ethan

People at Kabar are tight fisted if even Ethan only has one 16. Looking forward to the ffg for some comparisons but so far I love the 16.

Thanks for the pictures Ethan. Watching you work with THE knife is awesome. It's like seeing Henry Ford drive the model t, just plain cool.

Ethan,

That knife looks really great. I am excited to get my hands on it and try out your "dream come true." It's really neat seeing the maker enjoy the tool. Keep up the good work.

Great to hear that you like your new blade (thats already into production) Ethan. Now i GOTTA get a FFG, cause i like slicey too. LOL

This blade really works....Thanks for the kind words guys.......I just hope you all like it half as much as I do.......

Ethan

Great to see the Boss working the blade. E, I can't believe you trust Moose with a camera, but I'm glad you do. Thanks for sharing!

So maybe the FFG doesent look so bad after all...I cant wait for mine...Someone should also add these FFG pics to the tweener specs page.

FFG looks incredible. Holding my bk-14 to tonight with the new scales, I was thinking about how nice it would be to have a knife that was just a bit larger for when the small size wasn't a necessity.

Dear person posting as Ethan,

What have you done with Ethan? :)

posting pictures? starting threads? snark thread? wow. nice.

good stuff...
