  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

An afternoon with a BK 16 .......

That FFG looks way better than I thought it would, can't wait until they start shipping:D

that blade looks awesome, ethan. congratulations on this one!
viele grüße und mach weiter so!!!

Tooj and I talked coatings......The new one is supposed to be tougher but, Obviously has more texture....Moose was right after teh afternoon workout it looked a bit messy......I spritzed it with a bit of alcohol and washed it with some dish detergent and it looks almost new......The bad stuff came right off......I was thinking about asking you all to let me know how the coatng was working out......But, asking the patina obsessed about coating styles is pretty useless.....LOL....
BTW, who got their Shorts stripped fastest.....Brown truck to Citrus stuff??????

ethan

:D

I did keep the coating for about three hours.

Got my 16 in the mail yesterday. What a great package!!! Love the ergonomics of the handle, sheath is great and the thing was hair popping sharp out of the box. I hate to say it but this will replace my BHK Bushcrafter as my go to hiking knife. Thanks Ethan...

Thanks Ethan!

I think you have a real winner here with the "Tweeners". Can't wait to get my hands on a FFG Bk 16.

Great pics! That FFG 16 is very prominent on my radar at the moment (bearing in mind, I'm saying this the day the BK4 LE is announced - heh). Cool!

The 16 looks outstanding! Can't wait to get my mits on one of those. I just bought a 14 and went camping with it. I never had to pull out another knife. If the 16 is any better..... WOW. I will soon have a 14, 9, and a 16 (when they ship of course). I would like to think that's all I need, but I know better than that ! ;)

Looks like a heck of a knife boss! Glad yer right hand got to have a day out with the mooslings and such as well, we work him too hard.

Thanks for sharing uncle E! I can't wait to get my hands on one with the new coating.

Thanks Ethan, great pictures of a great knife! I knew the FFG was going to be great, now it's time to get it in my hands!

I'm excited to try out the coating durability, too, as Florida and Carbon steel can be a little like oil and water...

Thanks again, looking forward to THE knife.

have you tried a "forced patina" to protect your blades from rust? i had problems with the handle-part of my carbon blades...the exposed carbon steel used to rust quite easily before i used ferric chloride to create a patina. until now i haven't had any problems with rust anymore :).
