An Announcement Regarding the Baryonyx Machete

Hahaha not just yet! The original projected completion date wasn't for a few more weeks. But it does remind me to touch base with Rick to see if things are on track to hit that projection or if there'll be a push-back.

Just got the word that the machetes are complete and ready for invoicing/dispatch so now we're moving on to the process of gettin' the bill paid and getting the to the 'states! :)

post the list man, the more I see your posts the more usage I can see with that thing up north on my 10 acres,
really like the bill hook for vines and roots etc.

I now have an american shipping address due to my wifes new co-worker who is a dual citizen and crosses the border for work........no more getting gouged by customs!

This bad boy is really starting to grow on me.
Any chance on a Micarta upgrade?

Perhaps at a later date, but micarta is heavier than the poly and would require a full profile to the tang so I'd have to tweak the stats a bit in order to keep everything in balance performance-wise. I wouldn't hold my breath for a micarta version, but do know that it's an idea that's on the table. The poly is honestly a better material for the design, as well as more practical in use. You'd really be trading a little performance for "bling points", truth be told.

I am ready as well.
Will it be listed in this thread when they are ready, or do we need to keep an eye on your site?

I 100% agree with all that.
But the proto sure is purdy...

The poly version is awesome choice for mods as well as cost with durability taken in.
I'm excited about this project as well. If i must give a feedback on it- it would be the sheath.
Maybe will need something synthetic in the future as leather will rot in tropical forest.

I'd like to do a nylon sheath eventually. For starting off in lower volume of production, however, the leather made more sense. :)

UPDATE: The money for the first run (which is completed and waiting to ship out) has been wired as of about a half hour ago. As soon as it clears the bank in El Salvador they'll be getting them right out to me. Then we just have to clear customs and they'll be on their merry way to me. :)

Great to hear! Really like the design, saw your chop test with the prototype and it made me a believer! Keep up the good work.

Thanks, man! It was a great feeling seeing the tool perform exactly as well as I thought it would--better than, in fact! I've been using the pre-production sample a lot around the homestead, and it continues to impress.:)

Those look wonderful! I'd like to get one of them, too....do we watch this thread for the "Go"?

I'll be posting a new thread for it, but also posting the announcement here for folks that have been following along all this time. Thanks for the kind words! :)

UPDATE: Just got word that the machetes have shipped from El Salvador. Now all that remains is for them to hit the 'States, clear customs, then pass inspection. :)

The machetes have arrived!
