an emoticon problem

 Where is "The Cove'? I see it refered to often, but have never located it. Is it a pay only area? I need to get a Gold Membership anyway, can this be my excuse?

Huh....What Would Jesus Do?

I thought you would at least get it right about me misspelling a word (I can misspell). I checked all my posts and I don't make reference to anyones' woman like that. CODE 3 did and your reply should be directed at him. Hmm, yet another mistake made by you.

I guess you will have to totally rethink how to find something wrong. Go back in my posts your bound to find something. I don't know why I take pity on you, but I do.

Oh Hell. I was going over some more of the posts in this thread and now I find that Keith Montgomery made the same mistake as CODE 3.

Which of the two posts did you refer to? Man, I must be, somewhere around pre-school, if they made that mistake and they are (according to you) on par with pre-school for making that mistake.

"Your woman" ? Your spelling is on par with pre-school children ... Kreplachistani pre-school children. C'mon, give us a break with this emontionally-disturbed-by-a-tiny-icon imaginary "woman" of yours

Okay, could someone please tell me what is wrong with the spelling of woman?

I thought it was ok. We are waiting on faramir to answer the question. Apparantly he thinks "your woman" is bad spelling. I guess we are in for a lesson in spelling by faramir.

Maybe it is Kreplachistani spelling he uses, no insult to them whoever they are. Apparantly he takes a dim view of them.

In any case it was yours' or CODE 3s' post he was referring to.

. ......

On a very personal side note, my wife is a much better person that I am. Beautiful, graceful, and very lady-like to the utmost degree. She has been my best friend, my girlfriend, my fiance, my wife, my lady, my sweetheart, my cookieface, my honey pie, etc etc etc. However, I can tell you that I would be on a very quick trip to a very black eye should I ever refer to her as "my woman":D YMMV

Jake

Describes my wife as well.

Except, she'd probably give me a black eye, and kick me in the balls if I referred to her as My Woman.

Here is another interesting rule in the "Dont Do It" list for Community Center. Quote: Do not insult or berate other members of the forum.

Apparantly this rule is not respected here. Or all those insults and beratings I have endured here don't count.

I would put my previous post in red, but it isn't appreciated. I will refrain from using colors. :D

Hands, that are strong but wrinkled
Doing work that never gets done
Hair, that's lost some of its beauty
By too many hours in the sun
Eyes, that show some disappointment
And there's been quite a lot in her life
She's the foundation I lean on
My woman, my woman, my wife

The sticky with the "Community Center Rules & Guidelines." has been taken down today. I still have an html copy on my browser. All those rules were in effect when I posted this thread.

Firstly, I commend you for spending a few hours of your time to read the Community Rules and Guidlines. :D

Apparantly this rule is not respected here either. Or all those insults and beratings I have endured here don't count.

Convegence theory:

Convergence theory holds that crowd behavior is not a product of the crowd itself, but is carried into the crowd by particular individuals. Thus, crowds amount to a convergence of like-minded individuals. In other words, while contagion theory states that crowds cause people to act in a certain way, convergence theory says the opposite: that people who wish to act in a certain way come together to form crowds.

An example of convergence theory is the practice sometimes observed when an immigrant population becomes common in a previously homogeneous area, and members of the existing community (apparently spontaneously) band together to threaten those trying to move into their neighborhoods. In such cases, convergence theorists contend, the crowd itself does not generate racial hatred or violence; rather, the hostility has been simmering for some time among many local people. A crowd then arises from convergence of people who oppose the presence of these neighbors. Convergence theory claims that crowd behavior as such is not irrational; rather, people in crowds express existing beliefs and values so that the mob reaction is the rational product of widespread popular feeling.

Bottom line: Relax, take the day off and go shopping with your woman. Maybe you can get her a new Burka. :)

Here's an option: turn off images on your computer. Better yet, recognize that this is an adult site with adult discussions, and if your woman can't handle an animated gif, she needs to head back to the 19th century.

Generally I do recognize that the discussions here are adult. There is childishness here though (you can see it in some of the responses to my posts here in this thread). Jerkit is childish/vulgar unless you consider it to be someone scratching his chin. That is how I viewed it until alerted that it is not allowed in Forums (yes plural) here. That is when I figured out what was wrong with it and realized it is very, no extremely, childish (scratch your chin with your thumb, your thumb usuall sticks way out and why would you call that jerkit?). Some emoticons such as barf are almost indespensible so I wont turn them off, but I won't quote one either.

Now I am beginning to find out that it is only in Busse and Community Center. They must be a cut above the others and this forum here must not be held to the highest level, but the lowest level of all the Forums here.

Turn it off is not new advise here. I can also say, if you don't like the things you see here, in this thread, to turn off your computor, but if everyone did that there wouldn't be an internet.

I have been advised by a moderator to ignore it. That is what I will do, but when someone makes a Christmas tree of them I wont just ignore it. To debase a fundamental traditional object like that is the height of childishness and should not go ignored (I wont allow it in a quote though).

A line has to be drawn somewhere. Why do you think BF has moderators? Just for spammers? If you spell out certain four letter words here your post will be removed IMO (I personally don't mind a word depicting a natural act between a man and woman, but since it is considered vulgar I am not allowed to spell it out I have to use something like @@ between f and k). If you make lewd comments your post will be removed IMO. Isn't it great to have moderators! I really appreciate what they do (except one certain post).

The original post was directed to the administrators here to show that I support the idea that jerkit shouldn't be used outside Whine & Cheese or The Cove (how I interpret the Don't Do It in Community Forum). I am informed that they are trying to keep it out of General Forums here (I consider that to be G rated and Whine & Cheese/The Cove to be R rated). I watch some R rated films, but sometimes I leave or turn them off when it gets too disgusting (so turning off isn't altogether bad advise). Too bad I couldn't have used a more subtle approach and brought this subject up with the Administrators alone.

(so turning off isn't altogether bad advise)... .

Can't take this too seriously... Advice is what one is given; advised is what happens when one has been given advice...

Sorry... I couldn't resist! :D

sog:

did you ACTUALLY think YOU .... by yourself, with all of 300 posts, were going to change anything around here? that we were actually going to take you seriously after your first post ?

or that any of us would have any respect what so ever for any woman that would be offended by an emoticon that was never targeted at her in the first place?

but i do have to admit you totally made my day! i laughed so fookin hard!
i have no idea how i missed this thread until today!

I'm offended by this verbal imagery of a woman as a slave!
