An example of Flow

I have held his knives, I can't get the perspective of others?

So you made this post as you dont " get " Mr. Carillo's knives ? What knives do you " GET " ?

The knife world would flat out suck if all knives looked the same , if all cars looked the same or if all women were redheads ( ok , that last one I could certainly live with :D ).

You might want to take note of Kohai999's post , see how he conveyed that the knife is not for him but he appreciates the out of box thinking ?

Goblin - you might want to take notes on how to convey exactly what you mean in your posts vs , troll like speculation.

Without holding it in your hand, you wouldn't get anything but someone else's experience....which is like trying to describe sex.....with a woman, for clarification....not yourself.

So you have a lot of experience with yourself or women?

Just thought I would ask since you brought it up.

What does that have to do with knives? Not a great analogy.

IT is a GREAT analogy.....because looking at pictures of a woman in a magazine(or knives on a computer) is NOT being with a woman in a biblical sense(finger f*****g a knife)....and both give a much different perception.

I'll be literal next time, if there is one.

and here is me, answering the question honestly, thinking it was an honest one.
Will I ever learn...

I don't think that the thread makes the knife maker look as bad as it tries to make those of us who took this post seriously enough to answer it look. Oh well, I don't really care. It's just rude and manipulative, so I'll chalk that one up for next time. Cyberspace- whatcha gonna do?

65535, this is not W&C. Ease up.

Sorry Esav, I've been dieing to use that pic since I found it.

That being said, it's pretty insensitive and downright rude to post someones hard work and try to get people to openly put it down, I think it's a nice knife not my style, but I like the Damascus and the materials, overall not something I would buy, but I'd certainly consider a knife from him if it had a few design changes.

I am glad the knife got so many straightforward answers. The maker deserved them. He's made a lot of customers happy over the years even if his knives are not to everyone's tastes. Whose are?

The original "question" left it up to us to say what we pleased and we did. No apologies necessary. The only thing that went wrong with the thread was BG coming back to mock us for being knifeknuts.

I like the knife a lot. It instantly gives you the "futuristic" feeling, a little like Jose DeBraga's work. It is not boring. To me the angles work very well. It is one of those knives I would like to hold and play with, and certainly it is not just another knife. I would love to own it.

Did anyone else see this post?

Let me state that Wolfgang Loerchner is, without question, THE authority in the World of Custom Knives with the highest sense of design 'flow'. That he could find elements pleasing is testimony to how subjective this ruse played out.

Wolfgang's post made me go back and look the knife over again, and solidified my initial impression, which I still hold.

Man Coop, I was going to write a similar post as yours when I finished reading the thread.. Well said.. Remember that that old T.V. commercial "when E. F Hutton talks..."

I don't know him personally, but I doubt Mr. Carillo makes knives for collectors who are into "flow"....

Bravo Wolfe, I too like Carrillo's work, but even if I didnt, who are we to openly criticize a mans efforts in such a childish manner.
