Ancient Mini Combat Kukri?

Only issue is that like khukuri, making lydex for them can be a little tricky. I'm not fond of any sheath system that requires both hands, and these need to be tuned more (like khuk kydex) to avoid that. They're pretty wicked.

The little slip sheath you made for this one is perfect. One handed for sure and feels plenty secure.

After playing with this design for a bit: if this is a hunting knife then I'm a calico housecat...Jens, I think if you embiggen this you have your terrifying stabby khukuri...

JW,
It really just depending on what you are hunting for? ;)..

Those folks at the museum are sometimes the last to have any practical hands on knowledge about weapons and hunting knives too! LOL

Ndog-Glad to know- the magnet helps...
It's true, the museum staff generally haven't swung much of that stuff around...
Although they might mean it in the "kill the wounded stag" sense of "hunting knife".

JW, how/where did you embed the magnet in that sheath? awesome idea to just keep it a bit more secure.

every knife is a hunting knife in a sense. Just depends on who or what you are hunting. Even if it is just a hunt for petunias

Shav-the sheath has a double layer of leather where the blade sits-it's cut into the back of the top layer.

Awesome, Thanks, even knowing it is there I can't see it, but I bet it makes a difference.

Aww man that is slick! I just noticed there is a magnet there! I thought maybe you forgot to put it in there or something so I wasnt going to say anything. It drops in so secure and you can turn it upside down or whatever and its happy in its place! Nice job JW! Its hidden in there in the back around the copper rivet! Its hardly noticeable which is nice but it definitely works well!
