And the Buck of the Month is....

Bos heat treat is acknowledged as one of the best.
Not “is” but “was”.

Major custom knifemakers used to have Bos heat treat their knives and proudly had the Bos stamp on their knives, I have an old Bruce Bump knife bearing his mark on one side, and the Bos mark on the other. To see the Bos mark on a custom was fairly common; I haven’t seen that in over 10 years :)

At my workplace we have a few retirees around, but they are not in charge of major processes. To retire and still work hard at your old job isn’t what most call retirement.

Hey, but it’s been heat treated by that guy who’s been retired for 12 years :)

Bucks heat treat is still one of the best out there of production knife makers. doesn't matter if Paul is retired or not.

this isn't the first time you've brought this up. its time to get over it. if anyone asks though we'll make sure to flag you to get your opinion of Buck's heat treat and Paul retiring...in case someone hasn't seen you post it yet.....

BTW the company is still named Paul Bos heat treating. that's why his name is on it. Buck has bought it from Paul, but his name was the name of the company. it isnt that hard to understand. George Schrade is long gone and dead, but his name is still around cause someone bought the company name.

You love Buck, that’s neat. I like them too. However a con’s a con. If it’s still such a great heat treat, you’d still see custom knives advertising Paul Bos heat treat and makers still paying the little bit extra for the Bos mark. IIIRC a Paul Bos heat treat used to be directly supervised by Paul Bos.

Because a few custom knife makers don't advertise as having it, means it's no longer great.

Got it.

🙄

The illusion that only a retired guy knows how to do something simply means you don't believe old folks had the ability to properly train their apprentice.....?

I've been training them for years.
And many turn into impressive craftsmen.

It's easier to be happy when you have a positive outlook.

you don't seem to know much, brown shoe.

oh do you see Buck claiming Paul's still there on their website doing daily heat treating, that kinda con youre claiming?......why dont you go take a look and then come back and apologize for being wrong and for claiming Buck is running a con as you stated they were.
