The velcro had adhesive, but I hit 'em with the iron too.
High heat. No steam. 30 seconds. Patch side up.
Cotton press cloth on top of the patch to prevent a meltdown.
Got the velcro at Hobby Lobby.
I dunno why I thought the RMD was larger, ok then I have some good blades to compare it to. I'll do the Esee Laser Strike, and 4, BK-16, and 10. That should be a pretty good comparison test. If I have my Yuma by then I'll throw that in the mix. That would be a fun comparison Yuma, RMD, E-LS...The RMD is smaller than both the BK7 and the Esee 6. The Rodent 6 is closer to the size of the Esee 6 just thicker. Somewhere i think i have a picture of an RMD next to an Esee 6 i use to have.... that i got rid of. Never cared for the ergos on the Esee's myself though.
You CAN chop with the RMD, i have done it.... But the BK7 would be a better fit for chopping due to the size, but the RMD makes a better belt knife due to the size.... Its apples to oranges for me, Under 6" blade makes a great belt knife... But not quite a full all arounder knife like a 7-8" blade does. My Chopweiler is close to size of the BK7, the RMD is closer in size to the BK16... but a little bigger and sports a choil. So i use an RMD (custom shop drop point) as an EDC type belt knife and the chopweiler as an all arounder camp knife, how some use the BK7.
I think you'll like it, but if not they never really have any trouble selling on the exchange.....
Nice pictures Bighoss, looks like a fun area to explore with lots of stuff to cut!!
Proto proto proto
Not terribly scenic beyond the standard trees and such, which is a drag. There's at least one more in that area that doesn't require a day-use pass but that will likely wait until after my vacation. But I'll get in a hike or two on my vacation. There's a trail not far outside of my hometown that goes right along a river and it's a easy flat trail. Snapped this last year when I was up there.
That river is just lousy with blackberries too.
Just found out on the other forum I'm on, I'll have a Busse Transgendered, Lesbian, Bisexual blade to take to GLIB as well... My pack is going to be like 40 lbs of just steel!
Apparently it ran out of propane right after I started it.
From what I hear, BRKT makes a helluva blade.
My best friend's dad actually has a 100lb propane tank dropped off twice a year he frills that much. I will say, it is nice to not worry about it! Me personally I have 2x 30# tanks I rotate and it works for me. I'd rather do charcoal and sometimes will just use the propane to start the charcoal.I cranked up my propane grill earlier and threw some taters on it to cook. An hour later I went out to throw the brats on and everything was cold. Apparently it ran out of propane right after I started it. Now the taters are close to done in the oven and the charcoal grill is ready for the brats. Its gonna be a bit of a late supper tonight.
Great Lakes Island Bug-Out. Basically it's the camping version of "run what you brung" It's basically "Ok you have the gear to 'bug-out' but do you know how to do it? Here, here's a test run." AverageIowaGuy and James Nowka(not on here) are organizing. It's kind of a response to PWYP.Bud i love the woods, just trees is plenty scenic for me!!
What is this GLIB you speak of?
Me and the wife spent about an hour chopping through water bottles and chunks of wood together a little bit ago, lots of fun!! She dont really get into it with me too often, but when she does its a fun time.
There is only one number I call when talking "questionable manufacturers" it's someone whose opinion I trust and I know he has forgotten more about knifes and gear than I can ever hope to acquire. His words were "They make a helluva blade" along with some other stuff but I won't put him out there like that.A couple weeks ago we were fixing to smoke a bunch of stuff while doing other chores around the compound, and were worried about running out of fuel. Couldn't find the extra tank we thought we had, so we bought a new full one. Naturally, about an hour later Ang found the other empty under a pile of junk in the shop... so now we have three tanks to rotate.I'm almost looking forward to the power going out for a day or two (electric range/oven here) so I can feel smart about that...
That depends partly on whom you ask (geometry preferences... I'll leave it at that), and partly on whether or not it was (apparently) ground on a Monday morning or Friday afternoon. The basic designs are quite good and they have the handle shaping/finishing down very well... as they dang well should for those kinds of prices.
As for the "questionable manufacturer" thing... A) it's not really a "question", that stuff is well-documented and B) if you have that many "questions" of that nature, why even bother with them? (rhetorical... not looking to start a debate...)
GLIBo sounds funits only 7hours from here. I already tried and failed to get the time off work

Questionable ethics? Questionable business practices? People that prefer turkey sausage and turkey bacon to the god given meat candy that is pork?
