Dubz . . . the trick with the forklifts is interesting to say the least. I saw it, but I'm not sure I believe it . . .

Crazy, isn't it. It was posted on MSN, thought I'd post it here.

So went up and shot some more videos. Tested the Hornet and Maguna and they did not disapoint. Then did a shootout between the BK2, 10, Ontario SP46, and Condor Rodan. Spoiler alert: no clear winner. Each have their strengths ans weaknesses and all did pretty well, even the Condor. Dang good knife for $25. Then hit a new-to-me trail. Didn't care for it much because it was mostly downhill from the trailhead, which means forcing myself to turn back when I'm not tired because I have to go back up hill and it'll take longer getting back than it did getting out. And there wasn't much in the way of scenery or shade. After that I hit the BBQ joint called Obie's Fillin' Station. Had some brisket, pulled pork, and jalpeno chedder smoked elk sausage with a side of fries and onion rings. Dang that was good. Maybe not the best ever but still pretty dang tasty. The honey bbq sauce was awesome. The onions rings were perfect and the onion was so soft it practically melted when you bit into it, so no biting in and pulling out all of the onion and just having a fried shell in your hand. Well that was my day. Here's a few pics.

This is what the trail looked like when I decided to turn around. It's steeper than it looks. It's been raining a lot lately and took most of the soil off the trail and left a lot of exposed rock.

I saw a Coleman Go Dome 4 person tent (9x7)- it was marked down from 34.99 to 24.99-I'm sure it's not the greatest tent but a Coleman for less than 25 bucks seems like an awesome deal. I saw the same exact tent on the bay witha starting bid of 69 (buy it now for 99)-I'm thinking i should go back and grab one in the morning.

I took a couple of my BK&T iron-on's and attached them to the male side of adhesive hook and loop sections. Seemed to work pretty well.

MR ASAP will be here Monday, gonna need a patch, good idea.

The velcro had adhesive, but I hit 'em with the iron too.
High heat. No steam. 30 seconds. Patch side up.
Cotton press cloth on top of the patch to prevent a meltdown.
Got the velcro at Hobby Lobby.

Don't give me this, "everyone likes different things" - to each his own nonsense. Then you end up with people like my dad putting peanut butter, banana, and mayonnaise all on one sandwich. And that's just wrong, wrong, wrong.

Just typing it makes me kind of feel ill. :barf:

Peanut butter in grits does sound kind of interesting though...

Edit: please read the above with snark in mind.

Has your dad ever been.....um, pregnant?

I think Evan (Silverthorn) and Mike (Granitestateofmind) both have them.

I have a BOB, but no TKC scales, alas. And the BOB came pre-beat on (not badly) with no whistle....The sheath is...probably not for everyone, and the "Shango notch" has not proven it's worth, but neither really detract from the quality and feel of the knife. I really like my BOB, and I don't have big hands but it's also comfortable for me. And the little thumb divots are pretty awesome....If you've noticed, Dex started putting them on a LOT of those "lemons" he did. I made a little kydex for mine and I'm good to go.

I do hate TOPS blade billboard BS, but it's still a nice knife though. If the 16 would have fit my hand, I probably wouldn't have even bought the BOB.

Actually, Dubz, you are DIRECTLY responsible for me owning that BOB. The day you posted pics of yours when you first got it was the day I started looking for one. Wouldn't have even known they existed had you not plastered those lascivious "artistic" knife photos all over the interwebz, specifically straight at my peepers and into my very easily influenced brain. Thank you.

I have been debating on whether to buy one for about a year now. But I think I am getting to the point of having too many knives. Wait... How does that edit button work?

Come to the NE Gathering, and you can try before you buy. I have a BRKT Bravo 1 as well that should be included in any "questionable manufacturer's" knife shootout. Plus, it's another knife to consider in that size range, and it's also a hell of a blade (attached to a pretty nice handle).

Glad I could be there for ya man. :D

I really did appreciate it. That's one thing I love about this place.

OK, saw this and thought of you...people, don't ask me why. Took this picture myself in the lot at the local Crawl Fart:

Yup....U-bolted right to the roof rack. Makes me proud to be a Granite Stater, on so many levels.

When is the NE Gathering? BTW, BRKT is on my "questionable manufacturer's" list right below Strider.

It's not called Yankee ingenuity for nothing.

I cranked up my propane grill earlier and threw some taters on it to cook. An hour later I went out to throw the brats on and everything was cold. Apparently it ran out of propane right after I started it. Now the taters are close to done in the oven and the charcoal grill is ready for the brats. Its gonna be a bit of a late supper tonight.

I'd say! Still can't go wrong with brats though.

Just got home from treating my folks to a dinner at a great little brewery in a neat little town south of me. Awesome food and even better beer. If they can't grill it, they don't have it. Their (grilled) wings are the best I've had yet....

Gave Dad his ESEE 3. It was a big hit. When told about the typical ESEE warranty, he just said "Good" then gave a bit of an evil laugh....

Does anyone have a kelty red tail? Looks like it might be a nice EDC pack, also got a watermelon from a local co-op yesterday, might just be the best I've ever eaten, and of course the bk5 helped

From what I hear, BRKT makes a helluva blade. I'm gonna be checking one out in two weeks. I just got a ratmandu to check out, it was on my questionable list. I'm hoping to get it before I leave for GLIB. I'd love to compare a RMD to a BK-7 and an Esee 6, however I don't have a 6, so unless someone else has one and brings it.

The RMD is smaller than both the BK7 and the Esee 6. The Rodent 6 is closer to the size of the Esee 6 just thicker. Somewhere i think i have a picture of an RMD next to an Esee 6 i use to have.... that i got rid of. Never cared for the ergos on the Esee's myself though.

You CAN chop with the RMD, i have done it.... But the BK7 would be a better fit for chopping due to the size, but the RMD makes a better belt knife due to the size.... Its apples to oranges for me, Under 6" blade makes a great belt knife... But not quite a full all arounder knife like a 7-8" blade does. My Chopweiler is close to size of the BK7, the RMD is closer in size to the BK16... but a little bigger and sports a choil. So i use an RMD (custom shop drop point) as an EDC type belt knife and the chopweiler as an all arounder camp knife, how some use the BK7.

I think you'll like it, but if not they never really have any trouble selling on the exchange.....
