And the WASP makes three.

I hope you're right. ;)

such is the interwebs, where you lose all of the non-verbal cues.

and if I was mistaken, I respectfully apologize.

Apology accepted. My reference was meant to show respect and awe at the collection. :D I respect all Busse fans great and small.

Drinking and light hearted jesting of the Drunken man sort of jesting is a long accepted form of entertainment on this Forum.

The Secret is to laugh along and to not get upset.

Just think along the lines of 'My Dog is better than your Dog and then say why" as a generic sort of ribbing.

As far as the "Hog" thing goes, all I read here seems to come out as Grunts, Snorts and Squeals.

Attitude and involvment, not the number seems to be the way it goes.

Edited to add:

People here will get teased from time to time, it happens, once again see above to see the types of teasing involved.
drinking before and after is part of why pictures of the event in question get posted(helps people to remember what happened)

 ..... :foot:

Thanks for the bump T.

Hi Andre... good to see you here. :)

Foo... How would you feel about adopting a son to will all those BM's to when you...huh... get too old to chop stuff...: o :rolleyes : p : D cool:

After the SantaGanzaaaaa trample I took... that might be sooner than I want. :p

I used to like you Wayne.
:thumbup : ; )

Don't worry Rolf... I still like you. :p

also, what are the thicknesses of all of those?

I'll have to look them up for specifics, but The 3 pre-release are between .290ish and .26 something... IIRC, the 2007 Custom Shop was somewhere in there too. The 1 of 300 (or 100 whichever the case may be) and the CG were .25ish.

Lil' Foo what kind of steel did Busse use in the different models/ variations, Thanks

A-2 right,: d

Not hardly ; )

THose are INFI. Maybe a slightly modified "INFI". They are different from what you and I get today. They had a higher rockwell heat treat too.

:foot:

No really... the BM was the introduction of INFI, so all BMs are INFI as far as I know.
There are a handful of Birds Beak BM types out there... with a 10" blade I believe.

One really, REALLY sweet satin one too.
I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE TOO!!!! :p

.
O.K., can I play too??? How about these:

SHBM Proto
SHBM LE
SHBM with a grind very similar to the Hood knives
Custom Shop SHBM

Really though......those are some of the greatest blades to ever come from Busse Combat.

Time, talking and hunting those blades of lengend are the best part,

And on that note.........I still need a smooth bolt SHBM!!!!

Thanks T Looks like I jumped before I looked. :foot:
LIL' Foo Nice link alotta history there. That's one awesome collection, you've probably got a kings ransome tied up in it. Those are some really battle harden'd looking blades you've got there. Anyone would be quite proud to have such a collection of rare and unique Busse Knives. Nice,:thumbup:

Lil' Foo Lil' Foo has been an epic hunter, in bringing these blades from their origins; storyteller, in documenting their details, history and in photos.
I'm honored to be the new custodian of the 🔥Holy Trinity.🔥After all, he only had them about 18 years! He's a real Oinkin' HOG!!!🫡... in the best ways possible.🤘

He was also kind enough to include some special goodies.
The "survival saw Jerry ground out of a band saw blade.... he made it to go along with the WASP BM." With the killer early embroidered shirt Tom Wheeler included with it.

Tom's original sheath for the WASP (seen in bottom pic)... the ASG magazine from JohnTheTexican JohnTheTexican , some personal notes from Tom, rare Busse key fob, Hood WOODSMASTER video Vol. 7, "Jungle Living Skills," late 90's Busse mailer, and old school Busse patch.
Hood's video looks to still be available on Survival.com
Here's the patch

Congratulations, Evan!

Happy they're in good hooves and with a HOG that truely appreciates their history!

I'm still grappling with the fact that I let them escape the harem... but 18 years is a good long run to have had with them.

That smooth bolt is the stunner of the 3... now that she's gone, I really wish I had taken the opportunity to beat on her a bit and see how she did.

Hope you enjoy them, HOG brother!!!
And thanks for the call .. I enjoyed our conversation.

Wow! Congratulations, Nuker!

I'd like to thank Lil' Foo for keeping these beauties and their history visible to the community for all of these years. I've probably had more fun reading about these knives and the stories that surround them than any other specific Busses.

Nuker, thank you for posting this.
