And this is why we keep our eye open for deals...

I begrudgingly went into the "Big Blue Box" this morning for something completely not knife related, but of course, while there, how could i not stop in the knife section, just to see, right?

Well it turns out I had lucked out. They had just found a couple of knives that were NOS, and had bene misplaced or something somewhere in the back. A Kershaw Skyline, and a Zing (the black plastic handle one with the radiating pattern on the blade). Both marked down to $5 each. Both have blades marked with Jan and Feb '09. And both are now safe and sound at home, and out of the fluorescent lights and stank of desperation in Big Blue.

Just felt like sharing my score!

Anybody else get any screaming deals recently?

Awesome score!! Glad they are going to a great home!

Online knife pricing markdowns/goofs has enabled a few members here on BFC to score some incredible deals IMHO...

Sadly; I don't have any stories to share. :o:(;):D

And I am usually just like you. I'm always the guy who logs in and checks the "individuals for sale" section just as someone else says "I'll take it" on a $200 knife for $50 because it had a scratch on the inside of the sheath or something like that.

I never get finds like this, but every dog has his day.

I got my smoker/bbq grill marked down at home depot from $200 to $25. Not a knife deal though, lol. Good score for you!

That's awesome!!!! I actually really want one of those too. If I found a deal like that, i'd probably sprain my wrist from searching for my wallet so fast!

Brain lapse; I do have some past stories to share LOL!

I bought two Kershaw Storm II's for $15.00 each a couple years ago; my father found Kershaw Tremors for $12.00 each from a local bricks and mortar store last year.

I bought this set for $13.00 earlier this year... I'm pretty happy with that price. ;)

This set for $20.00 from an antique market last year:

We're not allowed to to mention companies that sell knives, but are not paying vendors here on BFC, so if you see people reference things like "Big Blue" or that "South American River Website" or "The Orange Hardware Store", etc... it's a way to say what we're saying without saying it. Know what I'm saying?;)

SCORE! Great knife. Super deal at 5 bucks.

I have a Zing like that within arms reach as I type. I tell people that it is not my favorite knife but, it gets more pocket time than anything else in my collection.

As ridiculous as it is to have to go through those gyrations, I know what you're saying
....and still have no clue what the Big Blue Box is. ;') shrug

Congrats on a couple of awesome finds! Especially on that grooved Zing. Those are getting increasingly more difficult to find.

I think it's where the Griswold family went on their Vacation.

It's Walmart. What's the big deal about saying (typing) it.

The point is that Walmart does not pay BladeFoums to advertise so the site owners don't want to give Walmart any free advertising. They want to support the retailers and knife makers/service providers that do pay to advertise here. Not that tough to understand.

To help my understanding, kindly direct me to this rule you are referring to.
