Andrew Demko Custom American Lawman is AWESOME!!!!!

in his youtube video where he puts the cold steel spartan through hell, andrew briefly shows the custom version of which the spartan was designed after. dont see why he wouldnt build one for you, but it will be a long wait. right now its a wait just to get on the waiting list.

sure am glad ive had my AD10 since september!
Yeah I just saw it but I wished I had a better look of it.

That ebay link is not double the cost. Im on Demko's list right now and its going to cost me $620 for one in CF with the thick liners. So granted it is a mark up but that auction will never go for the buy it now price so it may just be an extra hundred bucks or so.

That's a killer folder. I've always been fond of the production renditions of his folders and I'm sure the custom Andrew Demkos are of killer quality and F&F. CPM-154CM is a grand blade steel and a good middle ground as far as I'm concerned.

You had better believe it is a KILLER FOLDER! As close to a fixed blade in a folder as you are going to get!!! It is WELL WORTH the wait! Good Luck to all who are ordering now! Kevin :D

The knife steel is AUS8A, the company's premier steel. At first, it appeared the steel was going to be upgraded to VG1; however, Lynn Thompson apparently felt upgrading the steel would add too much to the expense. Unfortunate, because I would have paid the extra $$$.

You can find out more about the knife here at Cold Steel's website.

This is a CUSTOM Andrew Demko with CPM 154. This is not a Cold Steel knife. Andrew is only allowed to make 30 custom knives a year because of his contract with Cold Steel. These are WAY WAY WAY better than any Cold Steel production knife. These are all HAND MADE by Andrew. Kevin :D

I'd pay extra for VG-1. Nothing wrong with AUS-8 but for the money I'd prefer a bit more in the way of steel.

Yes, AD10 is awesome!

Quite the beauty there. To be honest, the Cold Steel American Lawman didn't quite rub me right because it felt a bit "cheap". Not saying I can't pry open a tank with it or anything, but it felt WAY too roughly finished(the weird screw thumb stud that sticks out more on one side than the other, the sandpaper finish on the handles that shreds pockets, the overpowered spring that makes it painful to disengage the lock). Yet I can tell the ergonomics were just perfect. A sort of "fits like a glove" feel you find with certain knives like a Hinderer XM-18, a CRK Sebenza, and the Yuna custom knives.

So after about a year's wait I finally got the e-mail from Andrew and worked out the details:
-4" Blade Length.
-M390 Steel.
-Desert Ironwood with Titanium bolsters(Orange Peel finish).
-Full Flat Ground.

Having the bolsters did bump up the price about 300 bucks, but I simply HAD to have that beautiful wood on the knife. I mean if the guy has a 1 year waiting list we might as well go for icing on the cake as well right?:D

I ordered one recently too. Black G10, Ti back spacer, and Elmax. I thought about M390. Now I'm second guessing my choice of Elmax. Darn you Noctis3880!

Depends on what you're cutting. M390 has better edge retention, Elmax is tougher. Both will be better than their production counterparts with a custom heat treat. I think the wood will be the one-off since I don't recall ever seeing an AD-10 in wood.

Very sweet knife. How long did it take for him to complete your order?

You would have to email him to get a time frame but I would guess like most everyone who has been on the list it took about 1 year. It is best for you to ask Andrew himself. THANK YOU! Kevin :D

Woah, ballsy choice of materials... and full flat grind too. Sweet. Will be looking out for that one!

Not to mess with yr head, but you might want to reconsider a 4 inch blade. The knife is quite heavy in its standard config.
